Came home to find a squirrel running around in the back porch. When he saw me, he ran out a hole he cut through my screen and went about 30 feet into my woods, sat on a log, and looked at me with a 'What are you going to do about it?" look. My FWB P30 air pistol answered him.
Cool video. Not sure where his Grandma is but we do shoot differently. He had a ..22 rifle and was talking about using a .25. I've decided to go after them with a pair of 10M pistols in .177 (~500 fps). Obviously headshots....
Black Tree Rat of the North East Ohio. Kindly migrated to Canton from the nice folks that let them loose at Kent State up the road an hour or so north.
Whatever recessive gene causes grays to be black is really rare in my neck of the woods. If I see one, or a "red" for that matter, it gets a pass in hopes it passes those genes on.
The black squirrels are abundant here and they tend to drive out the greys and even the larger fox squirrels. They are also the ones that get caught raiding the bird feeders and chewing holes into the patio screen and through wires.
Yep! A squirrel is still a tree rat regardless of color. They all taste about the same. The only squirrel that I ever gIve a pass to was a white albino and that was because I was pretty sure it was a nearby neighbors "pet". I haven't seen it lately so maybe someone else popped it.
