FX Any experience with 20 pos. Maverick PW?

Hi Guys,

Online I came across this item, it's a 20 position powerwheel for the Wildcat/Maverick rifles.

I am wondering if the 'plateau' of each position has enough bearing surface to support the Hammer spring screw.

Does anyone here have any experience with this item?

@Trucker3573, I have not. I can check for you..
USD and € are very similar right now, so no need to convert.

For me, living in Europe, shipping is around €15
For US (picked Idaho as state) with UPS it's $34

They do offer cheaper shipping options, but those state 'National', so I am not sure if those are usable or not.

Deff. looked into that as well. Thing is, with shipping to Europe it become quite expensive very fast.
And also, I really would like to have a lock system on it, since I handle the rifle in ways that it will be likely accidentally changing the setting.

I don't have to own the 20-position wheel to tell you that it will have all the same downsides as the original fx powerwheel. Phil's micrometer is the only upgrade to the fx power wheel worth doing -- and it does it right. I was concerned about the micrometer's thimbal accidentally moving, but with normal handling it has never moved unintentionally. There is a fairly snug o-ring inside of the micrometer to keep it from free-spinning. If it's not enough resistance for you, then you can add a 2nd o-ring. I've had no need to change anything about Phil's micrometer mod.

It's really amazing, the nano changes you can do with it can speed up the tune significantly.

And it is waaaaayyyy easier to tune than the old system! I absolutely endorse Phil’s products for my Maverick Compact.

I don't use the PW much myself . For me , there's only one correct tune and anything else throws my SDs and ES off . Not a big deal for closer shots but I like to shoot where the best tune is .

If you polish the end of the screw, yes. Maybe someone has one but there is something strange looking about that, almost like it's plastic. I was right, it is plastic/printed. Blew up the image and got a good look at it.

Yes very carefully. This is one of those situations where you get one shot and it’s either a success or you flubbed it up

And you need a certain type of set screw to "hold" it in place, right?
I've never had an issue with mine that it would move at all.......generally pretty stiff workings!

I can tell you that mine has NEVER changed in use-it is pretty stiff. Pretty sure you don’t need to worry about this.

Actually agree. The Maverick platform doesn’t tune down very far from its optimal spot before ES and SD get pretty bad. The original set up on the Mav is so easy to tune. I think this stuff is unnecessary in all reality. Just an opinion though.

The easy tune just works better. It’s a micrometer that gives more adjustments than the original equipment. He even provides starting settings for each caliber, projectile weight and for each barrel length( a full table is on his website).

Don’t doubt it’s better or more convenient. To me just not necessary and a 100 some dollars i could spend on ammo
