Any iron or open sight shooters?

I'd love to be able to do it but at beyond 60 the eyes won't allow it. Any real precision requires a scope these days. I was always partial to see through mounts on my .22 RF squirrel rifles-open sights for close range and the scope for further out but the open sights just don't function well enough for me anymore. I even have a Delta Point Pro on one of my carry guns and I always swore I'd never use anything but open sights on a handgun. Have to change with the times.

I have a few 22 rifles with iron sights, honestly I shoot them more then my scopes 22s. My cz452 ultralux is my current favorite. I wouldn’t mind a pcp with good iron sights.

I used these flip up sights on a texan .45 for 50 yards and under lol. Plus as stated I had a better field of view and it felt like I was a kid again at least until the texan went off haha. I then found this red dot with this cqb style. I have 2 of them now and they make or keep it fun on 50 yards and under stuff. 1 on a crown with a 380 and 1 was on another crown with an arrow barrel then switched to a 600mm .25 barrel. Stuff like this just keeps it fun for me . 👍 My eyes are getting worse but while I have a little left I am going to have fun haha.

Heck yeah! I can claim failing eyesight too, but with 1x reading glasses i still see pistol sights AND the target at up to 35 yds. without the 1x help the pistol sights are a blur. But a friend and i shoot plastic golf balls with open sight pistols like a race... tons of fun and the golf balls are no match ... yet 😵. I go more and more to the"glass" on new acquisitions , but I'll enjoy open sights until I physically can't anymore on many guns that I own.

I have one of those but put a scope on it as it will print 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards with the $.20 a round ammo. I can't see well enough to do that at 100 yards without the scope.

Im bored, and my gun is too accurate lol jk. But Im seriously considering iron sights. Im not sure if its a “taking me back to my roots” thing or just for fun. Any of you guys still enjoy the challenge?

I still shoot most of my pistols with open sights at 25 to 50 yards. I use a merit diopter, for my old eyes, so I can see the sights and target.

But I shoot all of my rifles at 100 or 200 yards so really need the optics to hit stuff that I have a hard time seeing or just plain can't see otherwise. If your bored with shooting put some spice in yer life reach out farther and shoot at smaller targets for more of a challenge. Glow in the dark aliens Necco candy wafers, paintballs ect.

I saw an ad for a sight called See All, and the son in law got one for his Stoeger air rifle, I found it pretty easy to use, no battery required. Picatinny mount only, so needed the adapter for the dovetail.

I put one on my Ocelot. They are great sights and extremely easy to see. Well worth looking into if you are shopping about.

Those flip-ups look like fun!

I'm a dedicated iron sights shooter; although feeling a void in my knowledge bought my first scope in the Black Friday fiasco.

2-7x 32 Hawke.AO

It's not been mounted yet (and maybe never will)

I really like the Williams FP-AG & FP-GR peep sights

https://williamsgunsight.com/product/williams-fp-ag/

https://williamsgunsight.com/product/williams-fp-gr/

They mount on a standard 11mm dovetail rail.

I have one on my Maximus 22 (using a home made pin sight at the front) and another on my Seneca Sumatra 25 (using the stock front sight)

I find the peeps sights much more quick in acquiring a target than a notch sight; and very accurate.

If you decide to try one, shop for price at Amazon, Buds, AoA, Midway Arms, etc

FYI

My shooting is pests & varmints.that attack the home orchard

Targets only to practice for that scenario

IMO

What's even more fun (challenging) than a PCP with iron sights is a Break Barrel
