Any issues with your GX CS4?

Hi,

Have any of you had any issues with your GX CS4 compressor after operating it for a few weeks, month, or year?

(note: I'm a bit concerned with the 5 hours per turn of the grease pot since I don't have an integrated timer)
Ya I nuked mine within a year, in the spirit of transparency I did ask it to do more work than I should've.

I have had mine for 1.5 years with no issues. I never fill for more than a half hour, and I purge every 5 minutes.

For the timer, just buy a bibration hour meter from Amazon that comes on when if feels the vibrations. Most people do this.

I used the search function for information on the CS4 - particularly with respect to the grease cup and I'm convinced that everyone should check the grease cup immediately upon delivery of a new CS4.

As others have posted, my new compressor had a substantial air bubble in the grease. It took only a few minutes to remedy the situation and refit the grease cup. After refitting, I turned the cap 1/4 turn and then ran the compressor under no load for 3 minutes. I then turned off the compressor and turned the cap one complete turn. This was followed by a deadhead test that took 28 seconds from 0 to 300 bar.

which hour-meters are you guys installing, and is it difficult to install? I'm a bit resistant to messing around with the internal electrical wiring :(
Tape-on meters available, no connections needed. Photo of instructions on back of bubble pack it came in. Around $20 on eBay, can't change batteries but claim 3-year usage. WM

My friend Steve just posted a youtube video on this. He clocks fill time to keep estimated hours for the grease adjustment.

I tried one of these and didn’t work due to insufficient vibration. I hard wired mine into the compressor wires, only tracks time when turned on.

Works fine on Yong Heng, only complaint was first one's batteries only lasted a year. Second one @ 140 hours still going strong. Can't speak to GX-CS vibrations so direct wiring might be needed. WM
