Any more info on the Kral Puncher Empire and Empire X?

Wow. Good info.

So the original barrel is aluminum not steel?

70 shots would be awesome for hunting and plinking. What BAR are you run it at normally?

I would be running it stock other than maybe swapping out the bottle (unless it comes with an aluminum bottle already).

definitely would remove the shroud and save some length.

Half tempted to step up to the 0.25 cal but I’m heavily invested into the 0.22

Emailed Krale and this was the response

Thank you for the email. We have this item in stock and we ship it to the united states. If you order it before 4 o clock (our time) we will ship it out today and you will get it in about 3 working days. have a nice day.

Met vriendelijke groet, / Kind regards”

Still debating on pulling the trigger (no pun intended) and buying this

Couple updates after I got my Empire X (bottle) in .22.

- shroud: can be telescoped out. Mine came with conical baffles (from Balistas in the Czech Republic). However the shroud does not have enough diameter for any real silencing effect in higher power. I took it off and screwed a donny type silencer onto the standard barrel thread.

IMG_3490.1609076250.jpg

- tuning: i opened up the ports (valve exit, breech, barrel) to 4.5mm but left the 2mm valve inlet alone. Experimented with HST (couple shims etc) until it achieved 270m/sec with the JSB Jumbos. Flat shot string, around 50. Very tight groups at 65m. Also shoots the KO slugs very well at that distance.

- reg: i had thought of putting an external reg onto the bottle to turn the cylinder into a giant plenum. Either a cheap paintball type reg or a resettable bottle reg from Lane or Altaros would do. This external reg is very easy to install and re-set. As it moves the bottle forward, I got a shorter 250cc bottle as well. All very easy to do. The alternative would have been to install an internal reg right before the valve, Lane carries one. Internal regs are harder to re-set. In all cases, I would have had to open up the valve inlet port to 4.5mm. But I decided to stick to unregulated because the power, consistency and accuracy are so good. No need for a reg, like most Kral pcp's.

- Cocking action / linkage: high quality, smooth. When dismantling, leave a few turns from full tightness, otherwise the cocking bolt is pulled too far forward and interferes with the magazine.

- trigger: the usual resettable two-stage Kral trigger. Good linkage.

- wood: superb, light, well balanced. Needs a few coats of linseed or walnut oil to shine.

Well built, compact and accurate gun with a great shotcount. Hard to beat.

I have looked at this photo a number of times and have completely missed the piece of wood inside the front scope mount! Droop compensation? Did removing the shroud and adding the silencer change the point of aim?

All,

I posted a while back about my initial experience with the Empire X in .25. ( IIRC it was got a new Kral....that sucked) Not sure how to put link to that thread. I purchased from Krale Shop. Purchase was pretty straight forward with the note of having to input ID for age verification. Price was IIRC around 600 but after receiving bank statement the exchange rate was around 40 buks more. Shipping was excellent and I received in 5 days! I'm coming from a TalonP so my first impression was it was heavier than i thought it would be. Ran a patchworm through which was a pain in the ass as it would get stuck on the shroud and/or barrel depending which way i snaked it through. Another member said to use a straw to guide and it would work fine. Did finally get it through. Took it out to the field and first shot through pellet clipped the end cap and blew it off the shroud and broke the shroud! Pics in that old thread. It sucked because I really wanted to hear the sound of the stock moderator and it just sucked anyway! So when I took the shroud off it seemed warped when i rolled it on a flat surface. I put my DonnyFL on it after I took the shroud off and it shot fine. Emailed Krale Shop and they recommended to send back. Sent back reluctantly and they said I double loaded it. I still don't think I double loaded but oh well. They said they could ''fix it for 50 euros or order a new shroud and cap from Kral for around 200 buks but it would take a month or two! WOW............they didn't explain what their ''fix'' was and i can't believe 200 buks for a shroud on a gun that only costs 600! I told 'em to just send it back. I put my Donny back on and it's been fine. Shot last weekend and the rifle is good out to 65 yards with 34 grain JSB MK1II's in stock form as it came.. I usually always shoot off-hand with occasional shots off a fence post or the like. I do think it's a great gun at its pricepoint but I have only the TalonP and a Gamo Urban to compare. I like short bullpups and am really liking the Uragan Compact. On that note, not sure why the compact and standard are the same price especially considering the bottle is much larger on the standard, just wish the compact came in .25 but the .22 is looking better and better. Hope this may help some in decision making either way.

Those are my notes about the gun -- speed and holdover/holdunder/ horizontal adjustment to reach aim point with different kinds of pellets at various distances ...

I don't recall if my POI changed after removing the shroud and installing the silencer. One suggestion though -- the shroud slides into the front barrel clamp and steadies the barrel. When removing the shroud, be sure to steady the barrel again by pushing a shim into that clamp. A strip cut from a drinks can will do. Wrap it around the barrel a couple times (depending on thickness) and push it into the space in the clamp.

Even if someone were to experience barrel droop with this gun, you could do without droop compensating mounts. The gun already comes with an adjustable scope rail, quite nifty!

My son and I both picked up a Kral Puncher Empire X from Krale; 25 caliber. I am scoping mine, and my son is using a red dot. We can also confirm that the Donny FL adaptor for the Kral Puncher Breaker fits perfectly on the Puncher Empire X. We now have KOI’s mounted on both, without removing the shroud!

What I like-

Forward charging handle- it is in just the right place.

Reservoir- plenty of air to shoot 45 accurate shots.

There is nothing I do not like, so far.

I am really liking this one for my uses. I have a buddy with a 3d printer, I wonder if an effective baffle system could be made that would screw into the existing shroud cap threads and possibly extend just forward and really quiet this thing down?

What kind of accuracy are you guys seeing?

On a different note, how would this be for a left handed shooter? Would the magazine be in the way? Would cheek weld be acceptable?

I am a lefty in fact. No issues. Accuracy at 80yds is exemplary. You could try 3D work but it would need to be pretty precise.

We are still working with our 25 caliber versions. We have almost 350 pellets through each. JSB Exact King 6.35 mm 25.4 grain pellets currenly getting 1/2 to 1 inch groups at 50 yards, still dialing it in. We found that our scope setup needed a 20 MOA base to give us some more elevation. We just replaced the rings today with the Warne 20 MOA MSR mount. $110 at Brownells if you use the free discount coupon or have gunsmith cred.

We dialed the scope elevation to dead center after we put them new rings on and it was perfect. Had to stop for the night, though.

As far as left hand shooting- I am right handed and would prefer the charging handle on my left so I did not have to take my hand from the trigger to charge. It should be perfect for a left handed shooter!

Also, we used the Kral Puncher Breaker adapter from Donny FL to mount Koi’s . Perfect fit.

Is the Puncher Big Horn in .30 a 100 yard gun? The specs say possibly.

I’ve purchased from Krale before, but that was 4 years ago and I’m wary of U.S. Customs and their box cutting skills these days.

I’d like an affordable big bore, but pellet availability is no fun at the moment.

I really feel like it will be. I have 100 in 25cal 100 in 30 cal and 50 in 35 cal on order. They should be delivered and ready for shipping by November if you can wait.
