Any portable compressors able to fill 100 cu ft tank?

This is what I'm using now. Its an industrial grade unit meant to fill large tanks with breathable grade air and run for 8 hrs a day. Made with quality materials to last = to bauer compressors. This thing makes my Y/H look slow.

Yeah for 3k price tag. It also make the yong Heng more attractive. Not every haves money growing your trees. If I was the get a high end compressor, I'd go with the daystate at 2k price tag and save 1k for something else.

For 98% of the PCP shooters the Shoebox F10 is all the compressor you will ever need. I have been using Shoeboxes from the original chain driven models to my newest F10. It is AMERICAN made, easy to repair, easy to use, efficient, quiet and dependable. I suggest you purchase the F10, a cheap Harbor Freight compressor, a good desiccant filter and a couple of 30 minute SCBA bottles. The key to long and successful compressor life is avoiding long run times. With the set up I describe you can fill a 30 minute bottle from 2800 PSI to 4500 psi in about 30 minutes with the F10. With 2 small bottles you will never run out of air and keep the wear and tear on your compressor to a minimum.

I also own an Atlantic 10 Compressor that I use to fill an 88 CuFt bottle about once every 3 months. It is noisy and crude compared to the ShoeBox but it does fill quickly, way overkill for what I need. I shoot about 15 to 20 thousand pellets per year.

I believe the ShoeBox was responsible for the huge growth in PCP airgun usage over the last 10 years. It is a great product!

For Jim22 and anyone else using the Shoebox, do you think it's necessary to run desiccant filters for the air going in AND out? Or is a low pressure filter on the input side enough? Is the Shoebox loud? I'm wondering if I can leave it on in a bedroom or bathroom and walk away... that would be pretty convenient.

I recently (last month) got my Yong Heng. I am a complete newbie to PCP filling bottles, but it took my new Great White from 0-4500 in about 2.5 hours. It would have been shorter if I hadn't discovered on my own that you need to turn it off every so often to let it cool, even with ice in the water. :)



It tops off my tank from 3000-4500 in about 15 minutes.

A dive quality compressor is the best choice if you can afford it. In the long run it is also the cheapest. It just a matter of what you can afford and how much you are willing to invest.

I bet EVERYONE would agree with your first sentence. Common sense. But the second is not so accurate. Some have used the YH for over 2 years. I used one for over a year. That is very good value and it may be what people can afford when they can afford it. All relative. Don't hesitate to try the YH if it fits your budget. It may well get you a long way down the road for relatively very little money.

I started with a booster which required a compressor to run it and am now using a Hatsan compressor. When I think of all the time and money I have spent so far I think I would have been ahead of the game if I had just invested in a dive quality compressor.

Quite possibly accurate, and apparently valid for you. The same cannot necessarily be said for those who have used a YH for over a year, or even over 2 years. It's a great time for air gunning with all the options available so each can choose the option that best suits their needs and budget. Absolutely nothing wrong with starting with a dive quality compressor if it fits your budget just as there is nothing wrong with using a YH or booster or Hatsan as well.

Used. But do search here for Altaros Booster. Mine have been working issue free for 6 years.

I hope if everyone doesn’t mind i hop into this thread as my first post.

i am in the process of selling off all of my idpa/uspsa gear/press etc (as i have little time to practice properly) and gonna “try” to get into competitive FT. I love the ability to be able to practice in my own yard. 

i am doing a TON of research before i dive in. I have the rifle picked out already, but obviously i am concerned about air supply (for good reason). I am looking to “buy once cry once” and have 2 questions.

one. Am i understanding correctly that the shoebox needs a compressor (like my 12gal shop compressor) to fill bottles and air rifles?

two. Is there a one shot compressor that can be used to fill bottles/rifles AND be used as a shop compressor if needed?

im sure i will be seeing everyone around in here and I am SO looking forward to this. Thanks in advance

Pcp compressors are 4500 psi and low volume so they cant double as a shop compressor efficiently.

If you need a shop compressor then buy one and the Altaros booster. This is actually one of the best ways to do it. On 6.8L tank (80cf 90cf or whatever marketing wants to call them) altaros 30 min per 500 psi fill time 9 x 30 = 4.5hrs 0-4500 psi, 1.5 hours 3000 to 4500. Tuxing texdt032 10min per 500 psi on same tank = 1.5hrs 0-4500 30min probably more like 20min 3000 to 4500. However owning both the Altaros is less hassle and maintenance (like none), also quieter, especially if the shop compressor is somewhere else.
