FX Any recommendations between the FX Impact .30 and .35

I own the Texan .308, which is powerful enough to eliminate squirrels. It is also an excellent PCP for coyotes, which is why I purchased it. It offers great long-range capabilities and substantial power. I use150gr ammunition and would confidently take a shot at a coyote from 150-170 yards, if not further. The shots below are tethered.

It definitely would be capable for both, I have been watching videos on it and it looks like it shoots very well, but it looks to be fairly long. How do you like if for hiking/hunting?

Forking my own thread here... Does anyone have experience with the Wildcat Mk3 BT in a hunting application? Does it also suffer from the POI issues due to barrel design? My cousin has one in .22 (slugs) and seems pretty happy with it for plinking/shooting squirrels.
I was in the same boat about a month ago, looked at most mentioned
Almost got the Wildcat mk3 bt looked at a ghost some daystates same as the ghost
Was also going to get a 30 cal , was warned about the fx m4
Ended up with a fx m4 25 600mm shot pellets well.
Decided to shoot slugs 30-34g installed a superior hvy liner 1/18
Also had the cold shot issues but resolved that with a new one ring.
After all said and done the gun just works stacks slugs and very constant shot count now.
I am using it for target and pesting coons up to 75 yds no problem.
Like others said for pesting 100% Urgan 2 Vulcan 3 or the Wildcat mk3 bt.
I like the m4 myself even though I had to tinker to me it was worth it for what I'm doing.
Good luck.

I appreciate the info, it has been a fun rabbit hole to go down. There are features in each platform that I like, but I keep coming back to the FX platform as I really like the ability to swap barrels and thus change the caliber of the gun. I am not a hard core tinkerer but I do not mind tinkering and being able to adjust so as to better match my objective. In reading other posts I have seen both sides of the debate on the FX design and the various "gotchas" that can/do come up.

I know what I want to accomplish, and now I have a better idea of which platforms would suit that to greater/lesser degrees. Other than buying a lemon I am confident that I will not have buyers regrets no matter which route I go. I suspect I will end up with a FX Wildcat Mk3 BT or a Maverick (but if I come across a smoking deal on an Impact in a moment of weakness, I could easily end up with it :D )

If changing barrels/calibers is a priority driving you to FX, really check out the ghost. I believe Tony at Talon Tunes still has the HP on sale for 1,899 (awesome price!) flus 5% discount at checkout and free shipping. Essentially a less fussy impact with a solid barrel and at Tony’s price hard to get more bang for your buck. .22 and .30 barrel and your set. If you want to shoot slugs get the HP in the caliber you DON’T want to shoot slugs and then get a slug barrel in the other caliber (or subMOA barrel if .30 will be your slug caliber).

Any recommendations for where to find a subMOA barrel? I have been looking and have yet to find that BRK offers them.

I think I would order it in a .22 cal and then look for a .30 subMOA barrel.

Last time I spoke to AOA about them they said “expected around the end of the year”… so hopefully not too much more…

Thank you for the info, after a bunch of reading/videos on the BRK Ghost I just placed an order for with Tony at Talon Airguns for a Ghost .22 HP with a 0db 160s moderator.

I appreciate the input from everyone that took time to reply.

You’re going to be very happy! The only bad thing about it is the trigger, it’s very heavy. Franklink has an awesome tutorial how to fix that. Just search for “ghost trigger” and you’ll find it. AEA pellets, 22 and 25gr (and 18gr as well in case you’ll stay within 50yards) and thepelletshop to order them, no need to try anything else (unless you really want to…). Lastly, clean the barrel first thing and deep, it has a coating you want to get out.
