Other Anybody else having trouble with bidding on ebay?

FYI, with the new IRS rules, if you sell more than $2500 worth of stuff on EBay in 2025, eBay is required to send you a 1099 form for you to claim it as income on your taxes. For 2026, that threshold will only be $600.

Same goes with collecting payment via PayPal or Venmo “Goods and Services”.

So in addition to eBay taking 15%, and PayPal taking 3%, you may also have to pay 20-35% income tax, depending on your tax bracket.

Seattle area happened a month or so ago
i called but it will be easier to just open the door and scream
if there is a way to fix it, it is beyond me
so this is what happens
the seller has to check a bow that he will only ship to area that allow the item
and there is an option PELLET OR BB
now if the seller selects PELLET i get cut off and as i understand it if they select BB nothing happens
so, when you call Ebay they say the seller did it and if you email the seller, he will say he did nothing
he can't list the item without check the box and as soon as he does the number of buyer just got smaller
now we know that Washington DC has strict shipping and a county in Illinois named Washington and these can be found on Pryamyd Air
now that might be the answer Pryamyd Air
they have a huge store on Ebay and they sure as hell could get the clowns at Ebay to listen

so that is what i know and it sucks for sure
i Emailed PA at their Ebay store
If you live in Washington State and get cut off, please reply with your city/town, county and zip code. I'm trying to determine if the eBay ban is statewide or limited to specific areas.

I sell a lot on ebay ive called them multiple times on this, they said they are updating the message to not put the blame on the seller saying contact him. Ebay says there is an issue shipping to California basically calling it illegal and a couple of other states which is completly false it is not illegal to ship to california not sure what ebay has against airguns.

I don't get this either. It ultimately hurts ebay itself by limiting the number of eligible bidders, they're losing revenue.

I'm in California and I've spent over an hour with ebay customer service, talked with 3 different agents. They all told me they couldn't see any reason why I couldn't bid on different airgun listing's I gave them. If the sellers list the airguns as ammo or something else there's no restriction. I've learned to accept that I have enough airguns, plus they cost too much on ebay anyway. Not to go political but I have to say it or nothing will change. But the liberals (it's a one party state) have ruined a great state.
Wasn't your state near bankrupt when a certain party was in control? Then that party you fear took over turned it all around, and made it into the 5th largest economy in the world.
I'm about 15 miles across the border, which part is ruined, because every time I go there it seems to be doing well? So well I can't afford to live there, but I can afford to visit, so I figure the ruined part might be more affordable

Yes, great idea. Move to Ca. Enjoy high taxes and regulations. High gas prices too! If you're a democrat, you'll love it here

California is currently heading towards bankruptcy, among countless other issues. But my main point is the matter we're discussing, I'm currently unable to bid or purchase an airgun off ebay (I've purchased quite a few in the past with no issues). The only explanation is the laws enacted by the single party in control are the cause of this. I'm also unable to purchase firearm ammo online without going through an ffl and paying an extra tax.

I could go on and on but this isn't intended to be a political forum so I'll refrain. We are here however to discuss why we can't purchase airguns off ebay and the politics of California are the direct cause of this issue, since other states have no such restrictions.

When I bid, this pops up. It has happened twice on two different air rifles.

Problem with bid

Attention buyer
This seller does not ship to your location. Please contact the seller directly for more information.{e264364-1046564x}
I live in Rhode Island I can’t bid on any Airguns or scopes on the bay. I can buy from pyramid and AOA and have shipped. MA and CT have stricter gun laws but my friend in MA can bid on the bay.

You deduct the cost of what you sold. Bought new sold used. Always a loss so no taxes. Unless you are buying at flea markets and making a profit.
