Results Anybody Interested in a Virtual 10 Meter 40 Shot Monthly League?

Winter is coming so probably will not be at the outside range as much.

Years ago, there use to be 10 meter competitions held virtually and posted on a few forums.

Anyway, curious if anybody would be interested in a 10 meter 40 shot monthly league ?

I guess standard rules would apply a 10 meter gun with standard sights ect ?

I think we could post the scores 1 time a month at the end of the month , honor system applies !

Your thoughts ?

JCD what are you shooting for rifles ? I have an FTP900 but probably buy an AR20 hammerli or an Airforce Edge to meet the regulations of a true 10 meter competition. Any suggestions ? Are there any dual 6/12 fpe rifles out there that can do both field target and 10 meter shooting?

I have never shot 10 meter before but wanted to get into it because of the Nebraska State Games. That and keeping inside when it is 20 below unless hunting with air rifles.

I used to use my FT style rifles and pretend I was practicing my offhand shooting for FT... As my FT outings dropped to almost zero when the kids got into HS sports, I also found myself spending more time shooting longer distances and / or minisnipping at 20-25 yards. As part of this went through several 10m rifles (and way too much cash) and was really never happy with them. I ended up with a FWB P70 Junior and I'm happy as punch for 10m Open Sights. I have a Steyr LP2 for Pistol.

I have too many airguns but have twisted a couple into my other wants. Even twisted one into a FT 'rifle' should I actually make it back out one day.
Point is, I could shoot several different guns/styles...

Attempting semi-retirement so you never what will happen next...

"jaydog"Phepler, not sure if that helps or hurts shooting? Will do, probably could open this up to a larger group of people by doing an open class? Stay tuned....

What would you consider an open class? The only requirements are the range shot at and that it be a .177 for the CT Airguns postal shoot. If the caliber was larger the distance would have to be further and most of us don't have more than 9-10yd to shoot indoors.

John_in_MA yea I am not too familiar with the rules. we have a state competition if I remember and they mentioned costs were limited and the sighting systems. If i remember there is a 10 meter here and I think you can only use .177 and basic peep sight not a magnifier. They might also have a dollar costs limit like under $1000 new for the gun. Basically limiting it to crossman and airforce intro 10 meter guns not the heavy expensive stuff. Again not sure of the ruling.

I would say open class for us virtual guys would be .177 and 10 meters away, any gun you wish and any optic ? I want to include as many people as possible. Not everybody has a 10 meter gun. I would probably shoot with my 12 FPE field target gun. I need to look into a true 10 meter gun for other events.

Anyway hope that answers your questions.

The CT Airguns postal match is just that. 10m/yd with whatever you have to shoot in .177. You can use peeps, open sights, scopes. It was started as a way for field target shooters to keep in practice during the winter months using our ft rigs. You should check out the link. There are targets to download and the full rules(a few sentences) to read.

Ok guys I will send out an email to you you all on the details here shortly

I was thinking by January 1st we could post our shooting scores.

At quick glance I am thinking 3 of these sheets with 12 targets below this would give us 36 Targets. If there is a better 10 meter target then please speak up. I just looked for the most targets on a sheet of paper. The problem I see is that there is a traditional 40 shots. So if we are ok with only shooting 36 that be cool.

So Far the folks that are interested are:

John_in_Ma
NL-Law
PHeplerNC
JCD
Jaydog
Quitin Martin

We will see if we post our results if we can get more people to shoot as the time goes by.

Any additional input would be great.
