Anybody know how to disassemble or remove a MAC1 moderator?

I've got what I beleive to be a MAC1 moderator on a CZ barrel. Been told that they were either pressed on, or used some type of adhesive. This one is "rattling". It appears as though the washers are not quite tight against the spacers. If I shake the barrel it rattles, or when it gets set down I hear a "tink" sound. I'd like to remove or better yet disassemble to tighten it up. It looks as though it is 2 piece, but not sure how they are joined together. Not sure it is hurting anything but my OCD is killing me.

I already tried emailing MAC1 with the email listed on his site, but have not gotten any response back.

Best way to fit something like this is to put the barrel in a freezer and heat the MAC1.

Understand completely, shrink barrel and expand moderator, both via temperature change, then put them together and allow to go back to "normal" state.
I'll try some higher heat, from the outer end so as to try and heat the moderator without heating the barrel.

He puts epoxy on them and slides them on or taps with rubber mallet. The ones I have removed came off easy after heating with the torch.

The inside is fender washers. He drops them in the body and then smacks the washers with a punch and hammer to wedge them in. The two half’s are then epoxied together. Watched him build them a bunch of times.

Basically he doesn’t want them to be easily removed or taken apart for legal reasons.

Good info. I didn't know if it was threaded (I've seen some of his that the end was threaded). I'll probably try and get it apart with heat at the joint. If that doesn't work, just take the whole thing off. Figure if I can get it apart I can use a spring to put tension on the washers. I was thinking maybe I could use a syringe and get some epoxy in to glue the washer to the tube. Probably got a bunch of lead dust inside that would prevent the epoxy from adhering

Seems like getting it apart without ruining isn't going to be possible so I guess I'll wait till I can get a 15mmx1/2-20 adapter and then heat it off. It does a fair job of quieting and just looks so good on there. I had a Hugget Belita and got rid of it, not thinking I would need it.

I just went thru this
I had to heat the stripper to get it off the barrel it is epoxied on.
After I got the stripper off, I had to heat the unit so hot that it turned from black to bronze.
this allowed me to take the back part off this is where you see the little line.
After the back was off there are 3 cups inside that are about 1 inch long with a hole in front.
I had to use a punch to drive these cups out of the body, that dented the first cup.
Mine is now ruined, as I was heating it smoked a lot must have been the epoxies and lead.
I scraped out the lead fouling and weighed it was 48 + grains.
I LOVE my USFT but I am not a fond lover of a moderator that can't be taken apart and cleaned.
