Anyone able to help a new guy here?

Merry Christmas eve everyone, totally new here and came across the site by searching for classifieds. I was trying to get in touch with a member on here GT350 who has an Aea listed for sale. I quickly found out that to respond to a listing I need 10 posts and minimum of 10 days on here. If it isn't against any of the forum rules, is there anyone that would be willing to reachout to him and let him know I am very interested in purchasing it? If that breaks any forum rules than obviously I understand it can't be done but I thought I'd give a shot at asking. Thanks for reading and I'm glad to have found this site. Happy holidays everyone

Welcome to the family! I’m not sure about the rules for contacting a member in that way.
But I wouldn’t worry too much about the 10 day and 10 post rule causing you to miss a good deal.
There’s a lot of guns for sale these days and some awesome deals too.
So many new guns are being created these days that there’s a lot of used ones to consider because folks are selling the old ones to try the newer ones.
We are so incredibly fortunate to be alive in this time of awesome airguns that is for sure.
Let’s get your 10 meaningfully posts out of the way!
I’m wondering what kind of shooting you are going to be doing, pesting, target shooting?
One huge tip I have right off is to only buy a scope that can focus down to 10 or 15 yards.
I once had a great Vortex scope that was so clear and excellent retical but it only focused down to 20 yards.
You could definitely still use low power and shoot pests inside of 20 yards, but for me I shoot a lot at under 20 yards and want a clear picture so I can shoot flys in the summer lol!
Merry Christmas to you and everyone else too!

I appreciate the response and I'm glad to be on here. Most of the shooting I do is target/expedition shooting between 25-50 yards. I bought a Benjamin Armada .25 about 2 years ago and I've been loving keeping skills current without breaking the bank on center fire rounds. I didn't realize how accurate these have gotten in recent years. Being in my 40's now I just remembered the old springers back in the day that were very inconsistent. This brings a whole new level of fun that can be had in the back yard and not having to travel to a range. Plus it's fun to get my boy into the sport!

They have gotten very accurate!
I bought a crappy springer from Walmart to deal with a chipmunk infestation, and after whittling down a few I got rid of the awful gun.
I went on line and watched some videos and ordered a .25 Marauder.
In two days the chipmunk problem was solved.
Then I started wondering just how accurate air guns could be and watched more videos.
Down the rabbit hole I went lol.
I’m completely hooked and doomed for the rest of my life haha!

I'm in the same boat haha this past summer is decided to test skills on some new targets. We were shooting q-tips at 20 yards, playing cards that were edge facing us, took some of my sons chalk and tied it to some string and let it swing in the wind from a tree for a moving target, and then went as far as to build a motorized rotating target with variable speed control. We also built some small binary targets just for a little added excitement and shot recognition. This quickly got addicting lol

I planning on making a target with diminishing sizes this winter. My goal is to make it self resetting once the smallest target is hit. Possibly use a remote powerhouse and control so I don't have to leave the bench area to reset.
KYL is just spinners always resetting google it , very very easy to make , i used soft steel flats from Lowes and nut/bolt , washers of various sizes

I'm pretty lucky with my yard, it does have some elevation change but it works to my advantage as there is a natural berm that borders one side of my property. At my longest I have about 45yards and no risk of projectiles leaving my property.
Welcome to the forum, what are you using for air ? as a 357 or 45 cal. is going to gulp it up.
I've got a venturi compressor. I started with a hand pump but quickly realized I'm not 20 anymore and that's a lot of work lol

Definitely make a bunch of different types of targets, it makes a shooting session more interesting and fun.
I made a spinner target that is like a mini shooting gallery lol.
You can cut cards or paint balls and cut toothpicks or ring the bell.
The smallest spinner is smaller than a .177 pellet and it cuts the pellet in half when you hit it squarely.
Shooting is so much fun, we are so fortunate to have airguns this accurate!

Very nicely done! Speaking of cutting pellets in half, I have a shot I want to try. Splitting a round on an axe head and hitting a target on either side with one round
