Anyone else feel this way?

Have to say I'm getting used to the new format. I cant even imagine how much work Michael put in. I'm in awe of his dedication & ability!

Wanted to give some (hopefully) positive insight. I think one of the things I'm REALLY sorry to see go is the "All Topics" category. It allowed me to quickly (& I emphasize QUICKLY) view the currently running topics & decide what appealed to me & what I wanted to spend time on with my morning coffee before getting on with my job or chores. Now, I have to go through EACH forum & I've realized it's way more time consuming this way (sometimes the amount of time I can spend with my favorite forum is limited). The "All Topics" allowed me QUICKLY weed through what did & didn't interest me & appropriate my limited time more efficiently. So far, that's the thing I miss the most. Make sense? I'm getting used to the "new" but REALLY miss that one "old" thing. Make sense?

Have you tried the new posts button from the menu? They are using almost the same format as BushcraftUSA. It has a what's new button but I think the new posts one here might do what you want.

Agreed, it would be nice to have the All Topics category back if possible.

There are categories I don't look at routinely, but when a seemingly interesting post popped up in All Topics, it was a quick & easy click.

I have already seen big improvements on the New AGN in only a couple of days. And it appears that Michael is diligently working towards giving the users what they want most. I truly don't envy him for all the work and expense he has already put into the site revisions, and the continuing work he has to try and keep the majority of members happy.

If you are looking at the forums view and select threads, it should list newly created threads in time order like the old “All Topics” used to do.

I was thinking the same thing. I like to look at all posts from all forums in ine list. I was frustrated until I did 3 things:
1) scroll to the bottom of the page, select settings, and then select your appropriate time zone.
2) Click the white drop down menu triangle next to 'FORUMS' and select 'new posts'
3) after getting a page of new posts, click the red drop down menu triangle next to 'Filters' on the right, UNcheck all the boxes, then check the 'save as default' box, then press the red FILTER button to apply.

Now you will get all posts from all forums in reverse chronological order, whether you've read them or not, for perusal in one place!

Ding!

Try it, but it will only work if you have basic cookies enabled. I generally block all cookies in my android Chrome browsers, with exception overrides for favorite sites like AGN.

@Gerry52 Yes. I’m adjusting as well. There are some new features that I am begining to recognize and like and others that I miss. For one the photo quality seems to have greatly improved when viewing pictures that members post. When Michael mentioned it in an older thread where I’d asked about the old “Docs and Schematics” forum, I didn’t quite understand. It seems apparent now. I’ve also noticed that you can visit a thread, type a reply, leave it in the text box without posting it, leave that thread/page, and come back to the thread where you typed your reply and press “post reply” at a later time and it’s still there unchanged and ready to post. I discovered this earlier on accident. Looks like there’s plenty more to discover. It will just take some getting used to. It’s growing on me.

Hi Gerry
Are you looking at the Forum list view?

If you look at the Threads view this will be just like the All Topics forum on the old site.
New posts in the classifieds also show up in Threads so for those that monitor the classifieds you also see the news posts there. For some this feature is an improvement over the All Topics forum. Those who don’t care to buy from the classifieds maybe not so much I guess. Anyways hope that helps
