I simply went to turn my front objective lens cover to clock it differently when opening and the scope just tore off the pic rail, and upon close inspection I see this. These things come with a sort of warranty? I always set my ring and clamp screws to a torque setting. The base clamps usually 25-30 in lbs

Wow I've seen that before on some cheap rings on a Walmart Umarex airgun and scope combo. I would hope FX would take that back. You should just do it hand tight. When it feels snug try to give it another 1/8-1/4 turn to be very secure. Use some locktite. You might try a different brand altogether like BLK or UTG

Yup , Twice

More specifically. The 30 mm to picatinny.
There is a design flaw in them. There is a tiny hole drilled on the side for that set screw. They mill a flat so they can drill that hole.
That flat is a week spot in the clamp.
the 30mm to 11mm dove tail rings. Do not have the machined flat. I have not broken any of those. So I think the issue is with the 30mm to picatinny. Now to every one who is going to say. “ You over tightened them” Ya ok whatever. 1 . I’ve never broke or even stripped out a scope ring in my last 15 years of working on firearms. 2. For the price of these rings. They should not break.
I switched to Eaglevison rings.

Agreed they shouldn't break for the price. FX

Eagle Vision NO IDEA

O’Doyle, you are awesome with the links. Who carries sports Match? The eagle visions I know are at UAG.

ive never been one to splurge on rings, and with the no limits I thought I was a part of the “in crowd”, lol. I’ve always favoured monstrum rings on air guns, and on powder burners the DNZ one piece.

I spoke with someone at Utah Airguns the other day asking if anyone experimented with a 1.93” mount on the Impact. I’ve been thinking about trying that height since I mostly shoot from a tripod now. The person told me that the Impact is designed for 1.5” but that I may want to test the 1.93 height by using one of the cheap risers sold on Amazon. I currently use and recommend the NIghtforce unimount but 1.5” is the highest they currently offer. Also, if your scope has 100 MOA or more of elevation then you’re good going with a total of 40 MOA on the rail and mount option.

It doesn’t say on the package, and for those that never say I always limit it to 16-18 lbs. inch on cap screws and 25-30 on base screws to the scope rail.

Another member I know here when he got his new Impact and no limits he snapped one of the two no limits with just the Allen wrench that came with it, and leveraging from the short stem of the wrench!

i took that for a design flaw on just that particular one. Now with both mine tearing off from readjusting a scope cover I’m starting to wonder if I should make the switch to another brand.

When I compare my cheaper Monstrum rings to the no limits, it is wider at the upper stem above the picatinny teeth that grip the rail.

Mine could not be tightened hard enough in the angle adjustment to secure a scope without ""gradually"" slipping down over time. I had to put a piece of sandpaper between those surfaces that press against each other in the rings to fix the issue. It literally took months and lots of wasted time and ammo to finally figure the problem out 😡

At the same time my FX rifle was having other issues which compounded the frustration.

But mine didn't break like yours did.

Due to this issue and many others I'm not buying FX products anymore.

I hear this everyday. What was the gun's issues?

I’ve never had problems with my FX guns and will continue to invest in more pocket book allowing. When I say problems I’m talking about something I can’t repair or do something about. Example, my Impact sprung a leak a week ago out of the blue. Very hard to find, but the trusty 5 gallon bucket of water and my Impact dunked in found it. I actually looked at this as an opportunity to learn more about the gun as I had to completely disassemble it in order to wipe all internals dry, and it was an opportune moment to apply fresh lubes. Its been awhile since I tore the Impact down so it was a good re fresher.

It’s all part of the hobby of pcp ownership.

This mishap with the no limits- I took advantage of this and decided to swap over all the fasteners on the wildcat to stainless since the gun was going to be down a bit till I replace the scope rings.
