Anyone Ever Shoot This New,Weird Looking Slug Called The ARG?

I just ran across this weird looking slug, and I wonder if anyone has ever had a chance to shoot some? It's supposed to have this hollow rear end which allows the round to flare and adhere to the barrel better like the skirt of a pellet.

I don't know if this new fangled ammo is even worth a try.

Thoughts?

Shouldn't be a problem as slugs don't have skirts like a pellet does
But if the goal is to seal the barrel with a skirt, then this doesn't look like it will accomplish the goal to me. I've had pellets in the past I was pushing over 50 fpe that didn't fully expand heavy skirts like these. Of course I don't know if these are pure lead or not. If they are, they may actually expand and give a seal. The ones I was using will fairly hard with alloy in them.

I haven't heard of them until now.
hello, I bought a box of cal. 300 gr.67.9 and one of gr.55.6. and I can tell you that I am very disappointed with these slugs, the 67.9 gr. does not even fit in the barrel FX Impact it blocks, so I measured the slugs and to my surprise here is the result of 7.77mm (0.306 ") it makes a difference of 0.15 mm and for the 55.6gr. it you really have to push very very hard at the risk of damaging the whole mechanism, and I'm really disappointed with Krale's reaction to this, and I'm attaching a photo of the deformed slug where you can see where the engagement stops in the barrel

That appears like they were made for a specific caliber of rifle barrel, the .303 British, rather than the standard .30 caliber airgun barrel dimensions. Maybe you could run them through a sizing die to at least test them for flight characteristics. Their design construction looks like it would lend itself to good spin stabilization.

7.8mm is 0.307", suitable for .30 calibre rifles.
.303 British uses a 0.311 or 7.9mm bullet.

The design looks very similar to one of the varieties of slug that Griffin Airgun Ammo sells. Griffin calls them a "deep hollow base." It is basically a slug with a pellet skirt. I've tried Griffin's "deep hollow base" in .22 in a couple guns now and they shoot as good as NSA (in one case better than NSA) and always better than JSBs knockouts (at least in those particular barrels). Accuracy with the Griffin's didn't seem to deteriorate out to the 100 yards I tested them at. BUT, "accuracy" was typical slug accuracy, which is around 2.5-3" groups a 100 yards, occasionally better but average was 2.5-3." So, "hunting" accuracy, but not the pragmatic's choice for competition (Which can generally said of all small bore slugs, at least until you're up into rimfire power levels, so they say. Haven't personally confirmed on the high end of power levels, but all the results I've had with sub 50fpe slugs make me think the slug craze is the airgun industry equivalent of the tale of the Emporors New Clothes).

I have done a fair bit of pesting near the 100 yard mark with .30cal Hybrid Slugs pushing 85fpe, and I get near 1.25 MOA. Most definitely not a craze depending on your intended target and the energy you wish to keep downrange.

.30 puts it out of my idea of small bore and definitely out of the sub 50fpe realm that I mentioned.

Is that 1.25moa an average or the best of a shooting session? Not a challenge, just curious to know since an average versus cherry picked makes a big difference. If you're averaging 1.25 moa, congrats.

Well, I guess that depends on how much caffeine I had before shooting! 😅

I don't repeatedly shoot groups just to punch paper, as I do a handful of groups to see how consistent my airgun is with a particular ammo before I unleash the ammo/gun combo on pest or game. So I'd venture to say the group is a random distribution.

Good morning everyone. My name is Dawid And I am from Poland where is it manufactura ARG Slugs.

Starting from the beginning, our goal was to create a universal bullet without any sub-calibers. By creating a bullet in caliber 7.62 mm with a weight of 4.4 grams in all the guns we had available, they shot perfectly, such as evanix or airgun technology (vulcan) (the other ones even posted targets on their official instagram). In trials with fx we actually encountered a problem with the pellet entering the barrel, knowing that a large part of the market has fx, we decided to redesign the bullet. The new 4.4 gram bullet enters the loading port easily, minimal drag is felt at the very end as the slug begins to enter the rifling, but it is really not a lot of drag, the testers have assured us that it is not a problem. The new bullets were tested in fx and they were excellently tested at a distance of 50, 100m and even 200m. After these tests, we were sure that these pellets would be first-rate and we were not afraid to send them to you.
The mistake that occurred is most likely the confusion of old-type slugs by employees, And this slugs We send to krale. We will be change this for this company.
Our attempt to solve this is to send new slugs of 4.4 grams and an additional package of 4 grams for each client (in fx guns they enter without any problem because they are 0.5 mm shorter). We will send it to you absolutely free for you And your friends Who are olso intresting how looks shoting On Slug ARG.
N2 Shooter please write to me on email [email protected] Or whatupp +48 789410425 we send you more box with our slug and you give your friends for test. We are 100% sure this is the best slug what you ever seen.
Thanks guys if you will have question please write to me we answer for it.
Regards, ARG team
