Anyone feel the same?

I come to this forum to get a break from the "real world". The state of mankind nowadays, with it's ever increasing lack of civility, waning tolerance of diverse points of view & social media's destructive effect on the ability for critical thinking has always left me grateful that, on this forum, we come together to share something WE ALL HAVE IN COMMON, our love of airgunning. This IS NOT a politics forum!!! (The rules & regs spell that out specifically). So people, for the love of God or whatever you believe in, can we PLEASE keep the POLITICAL references OUT of this forum (whether it be in a post or AVATAR!) Let's share the love of this activity that can bring us together & NOT something that has the ability to polarize us even further. We ALL have our opinions of REAL WORLD issues ( but you know what they say about opinions being like A-holes) and those should be shared on a different type of forum. Let's try to keep THIS forum about what brings us together. THANKS!

Who cares? Someone talking something politically you don't like...just skip over it. It's the same thing in your everyday life. To many people today feel they have a right to complain and scream at others.

Just smile and walk away or simply ignore. It amazing that the same thing can be done on the internet as well.

Woogie_man, that's PRECISELY why I've always come HERE, to walk away from sites like you mentioned (my form of escapism). WHY are some rules strictly enforced (talking about Powder Burners for example) yet others seem to get a "wink & a nod" from moderators? Which rules EXACTLY are to be adhered to? I swear, I'm not LOOKING to be offended, just trying to understand. I've broken the rules in the past & acknowledged & apologized for my doing so. That's NOTwhat I'm seeking here, just asking ALL to please follow the rules of the forum & make it a "safe space" for all.

The key to any good forum is active and swift moderation of comments followed up with some form of penalty.
On this forum moderation is somewhere between passive and nonexistent.

I agree keep political posts out of the forum unless theres a sub forum for it. I dont agree with you wanting to tell me what avatar I can have. Next you will want to control member names. If an avatar that shows a person preference for the side of isle they want to be on bothers you then maybe you shouldnt be on social media at all.

Personally I'd like to have a thread or topic that would be air rifling peoples opinions on this world wide change thats very real and most important, it can be set apart or passed over by people who had enough, what is going down is worth the trouble, most people on this forum seem to be intelligent and level thinking and worth listening to.

You can always block people if you don't like how they "behave" on the forum.

Almost any topic can be "political" if people can see it in different ways and there's some kind of policy involved.

Now you're trying to police people's choice of AVATARS? I hope my froggy doesn't upset you!

How about this idea... worry about yourself. Political posts I totally disagree with bother me a lot less than trying to censor other people's discussions (and AVATARS!!) .... and by the way, you just outed yourself politically with that very notion ;)
