i was asking IF it might work . Answers i got were that you might see a heat blob if it was a good unit ie: $$$$ . I got the impression i would need a $1200 to 2K unit ? I have 6 stab type 4 prong units but never got one yet .

Thermal is not going to see moles underground. Dirt is a good insulator/barrier.
Thermal can see nests on the other side of T1-11 plywood and have also used thermal to see raccoons/possums in crawlspaces and under sheds.

Excellent ! I went to my local dump and they said no , Insurance reason . Not about the shooting , just if i got hurt .

I wonder if you had a lawyer write something up that you signed that way the dump wouldn't be liable

anyone use a thermal to try to see moles in the tunnels in your lawn ? MY lawn is infested .

Same at my friends place, at least where the grass is mowed it look like you can jump from one mole hill to the other.
In IR mode they look black where as everything else is some shade of grey.
I often sweep my scope over them but so far i have not seen any activity.

Also mouse holes all over the god damn place, and even some golf ball sized holes which i assume are rats.
How they do it i have no idea, at my friends place the ground water table are only 1-2 feet deep according to maps online.
