FX Anyone got there FX DRS in yet??

I think i know where you are going with this....

Unfortunately its a very common occurrence nowadays....its all about "Maximising Profit"
Yes, I believe you do know. I sure hope it isn’t true. It almost makes me want to try to get out of my preorder. And very thankful I didn’t have the opportunity to spend even more on the grade 2 stock.

I got an answer from FX regarding the thread manometer:

@thommytom Hi I have reached out to the factory to ask for some clarification on this . It seems due to very tight spaces the first batch of DRS rifles was indeed made with M8x1 threads. Afterwards they made it work and changed it back to 1/8 threads for all DRS rifles going out of the factory in Sweden now. Sekhmet reached out to me with the same question and explained them also. Tell them you spoke to Airbuks and they will help you out. Sorry for the inconvenience caused and me questioning the gauges Sekmeth send you .
Aaah, I’m not convinced. So they are saying they had to redesign something about the block to accommodate the 1/8? So there is something different about your gun compared to all guns moving forward? Do you guys all now have collector items? Get a free updated block? Phooey.

How does the the wood stock look ? Does the barrel feel solid. ?
I’m still waiting for a walnut gun to appear in someone’s hands before I even start to anticipate mine arriving. I’m sure the air tube feels solid. I’m hoping all the pieces that comprise a FX barrel will be quite happy in there in a pretty controlled environment.

I have a new regulator coming from HPP, the first 3-4 shots are well below the rest by almost 150-200 FPS! Tom thinks it's bad regulator creep and feels the regulator needs to be replaced. I'm hoping that fixes it, because it's real hard to shoot a rat when the first shot (which is typically the only shot) when the first shot is 200FPS below the velocity it's zeroed at!
I have a comparable problem,

Yesterday evening I tuned the drs for the 16 grain pellets ( as long I have not recieved the big plenum) and it was spot on 885 FPS.

This afternoon I shot once agian over the chrony... first shot = 918 FPS, second =905 FPS and third... was 885 FPS

I thougth if the regulator has creep, the velocity is increasing?

Here we go again...perhaps put in a HuMa regulator or complain this by the reseller where I bought this airrifle??

I have had that in a lot of my regulated rifles over the years. My first shot is a little higher in velocity. It never bothered me much. You can start your accurate shooting starting with the second shot. Probably will not effect POI much.

Velocity may increase in a regulated gun that exhibits creep when your hammer strike is leaned on, when tuned below the plateau by 2-5% you generally see a minor decrease in velocity when the regulator creeps, the further from plateau you tune the more decrease in velocity you may see from creep. Although this behavior can change depending on the valves arrangement (conventional vs balanced vs pilot valve).

The solution is finding the right % away from plateau that keeps fps reasonable when creep occurs, some guns may need 2% from plateau. IE: peak velocity may be 890 fps, so you tune to 872 fps, while others may do better at 3%/864 fps.

Reminds me of my Impact. First shot almost 80 fps slower. I contacted @mubhaur for a modified plenum neck. Since them I can leave it for 1 or 2 weeks and first shot is max 5 fps slower. ( I actually tested it, take 1 shot with chrony, rest airgun for 24 hours or more and repeat)

I am actually interested in the DRS, but I think the Dreamline offers much more at this point. I think with the high power plenum the DRS classic will look like a real rifle.

I love my FX airguns, but the problem you have with that gauge I think FX needs to send you another block.

I got mine yesterday from Ohio Airguns LLC. It was so windy that it knocked over my tripod with the chronograph & same today. Since it was too windy to shoot, I decided to fit the stock to my big head and long arms. I first made a 1-inch spacer, which was still too short—now working on this 1 3/8 inch. Putting my lop around 14 3/4 Perfect. I am getting perfect cheek weld back at the end of the curve , it seems weird, but man, it is comfortable & comes up perfectly when I open my eyes it is there. Using .9 high rings, which are .8 above the top of the 11 mm dovetail. Perfect height for me in this setup.

I added one of these rubber butt pads to mine. It added an inch to the LOP which was good for me!

I also degassed it and adjusted the regulator. It was set at 136 BAR, I dropped it to 110 BAR and backed off the Hammer spring adjuster a full turn and a half. I'm still getting really low first 3-4 shot velocity, but after that it's averaging around 930FPS with 16 grain pellets.

1. 835 FPS, 24.8 FT Lbs
2. 902 FPS, 28.9 FT Lbs
3. 923 FPS, 30.3 FT Lbs
4. 932 FPS, 30.9 FT Lbs
5. 930 FPS, 30.8 FT Lbs
6. 932 FPS, 30.9 FT Lbs

That's really odd, my is just the opposite! 1st shot = 835 FPS, 2nd shot = 902 FPS, 3rd shot = 923 FPS! I can see creep increasing velocity in the first shot is pressure in the plenum raises, but what would cause the velocity to be lower? And, the pressure in my plenum is raising. Yesterday I had the regulator set to 114 BAR, I left it overnight with the gauge attached and this morning it had increased to 119 BAR. Not a huge amount but some...

Me too, FX is always fun tuning :ROFLMAO:
I don't think they will supply a new block to me, how many rifles would that first batch be! If it is only this that has been adjusted, I can live with it. In the meantime, I have made a nice appointment with Sekhmet for the delivery of an M8x1 manometer. You cannot buy these in Europe and shipping US to Europe is expensive and there are guaranteed to be additional import and tax costs.

B.T.W. how is the coltri doing?

We will have more data available when we have the large plenum with a manometer, so I can also easily read the reg pressure. I could possibly do this now, I currently have an 1/8" manometer who is unemployed at this moment:ROFLMAO:
Within about four weeks I normally have that large plenum according to the importer Krale.

Nice, but unforgivable those first 2 shots(n)

Next problem solved...
The fact that the hammer spring screw is so loose has made a friend and fellow shooter me a wonderful solution. He turned a screw himself on the lathe that now serves as a counter to the original screw. It is now very easy to adjust the hammer spring without it turning itself afterwards. FX should supply a second screw itself!
Much easier than working with loctite!

I'm hoping FX or some aftermarket supplier comes out with a medium sized plenum. Something with half the volume of the Pro Plenum. I think that would be a great addition for the Classic.
I also was thinking that! I know that HuMa is following this closely....perhaps:cool:

For now I ordered a big FX plenum, although visually I think this is a bit too big, especially with a walnut stock.
Does anyone know what the volume is of the three plenums that FX offers?
