Sheridan Anyone have a tip to mount the rear sight on an oldish Blue Streak?

Hello AGN'ers

I have an oldish Sheridan Blue Streak and it has the small (hard to handle) triangular shaped sight mounting rails for the rear sight. I had replaced the same sight on another rifle without much trouble, but the second one is giving me fits to mount the rear sight with those triangular rails.
I removed the adjustable sight screw, so it lays flat and popped it with a plastic mallet....no luck (that's how the first one worked).
I then tried a large 'C' Clamp with protection using wooden blocks below the stock and atop the sight, no luck. I have mildly filed any imperfections along the edges of the triangular rails and mildly lubricated, still no luck.
HELP!!!
Anyone have a good tip to git er done please lemme know.
Thank you!

I was looking at my 65, which uses screws to see if screws could be added to the newer models, but the skirt on the older sights was full length along the air chamber, allowing room for the screws. My 55 is soldered on.

All of the above suggestions....a big thank you for your input.
I finally got it to go on, I must have been holding my tongue just right. I removed some minor metal from behind the rail, thinking that my soldering job may have slightly more solder in that spot and holding it out further. I still couldn't get it to catch.
After some choice 'kind' words (ahem), and the tongue hold, I smacked the center of the sight and it started, I then finessed it into place.
Gave it a coat of wax all over for good measure and took a few photos.
Thanks again for the great input folks. Whadda great forum we have here.

I bought this base.
It attaches with screws.
Just remove the top part of your sight.
Very good quality, too:
