Anyone interested in a fun match for air rifles with a format different than Field Target?
I'm guaging interest for those who don't have expensive gear but would still like to get together with fellow airguners for a match from time to time.
The format would be similar to NRL22 in that you'd know the target distances well in advance, you'd start on the clock from a standing position with all your gear in hand. Once the clock starts you'd take position and fire the sequence of targets. Any hit would be counted, any miss scores a zero.
Clock times would be short enough that you've got to be prepared to move. Spring guns would get a longer par time than pcp guns and magazine fed rifles would have the shortest par time.
Rifles would be limited to .25 cal max, slugs wouldn't be permitted. There'd be no scope limits, howevern the courses would be designed so that those with high zoot rifles would need to mag way down in order to aquire the next target rapidly.
In other words, your enemy is the clock, not rangefinding.
The focus of this type of match is to advantage the shooter who can move quickly over those with a big billfold.
It'd be held in Pleasant HIll, NC, provided there's interest to support it.
Below please find a location map. If you're inside the dark line you're two hours of less from the range.
If you'd be willing to help with setup please email: [email protected]
Please watch The Tar Heel Airgun Club Website for more information.
