Anyone Own A Brocock Compatto In .177?

I had one, which I had purchased pre-owned and I shot for less than an hour before deciding to return it to the vendor.

Trigger was heavy (over 2.5 pounds) and gritty, which perhaps explained why the accuracy was quite poor.

I wanted to maybe set it up as a first field target gun, being short and handy and pretty light weight with the cylinder instead of a bottle. I have had other Brococks (Sniper HR which I still own, and Sniper Magnum) and liked those triggers. And the excellent accuracy from those guns as well. And I enjoy having the power adjustment knob.

Maybe I just bought someone else's problem gun?

Checks all of your boxes.

You won't be disappointed especially after you do the trigger magnet mod. Trigger is the weakest feature out of the box.

Go with the Bantam HiLite instead you get way more shots.

Have many Brocock models regulated and not.

Both of my Compatto air tubes have Aftermarket HUMAS, one high power and one low power. To alter power not necessarily for consistency. Already shot consistent without the regs.

If you want the ultimate (sub)12fpe 177 gun (not the lightest though) the 177 HW110K (carbine shorty) from KRALE (AoA doesn't bring this specific one in nor able to special order already tried many times). 120 shots at 200bar max recommended fill and it's the most ridiculously quietest mousefartest gun I have ever shot straight out of the box with a perfect (mechanical) trigger that feels a little better than my more expensive HW100s. It is quieter than my HW100s too but the closest I have is a 14fpe HW100 night and day near silent in comparison like the 110 is broken out of air when shot just a click sound when shot. Watch the video. First shot is always perfect dead on no matter how long the gun sat unused.

This is a gun I would probably never ever sell and even bought another for a spare just in case.

I really want lightweight. I wish I could find a .177 FN12 with the factory QF/Mod.

The evolution of what you seek but beware fiddly magazine cycling and potential wear problems and only mags from Bagnall and Kirkwood but unsure of 177.

Had a single shot 177 Falcon FN12 walnut skeleton Light Hunter years ago great lightweight single shot. The repeaters had issues with magazine gear index timing and wouldn't recommend the multishots.

what is this trigger magnet mod?

All guns even same caliber differs and I have 177 Bantam HiLites pretty much same actions as the Compatto ranging max power from 14fpe to 18fpe and going down to 13fpe and 10fpe at the minimum so your own individual gun may vary some. If you put a HUMA in the tube like I have in 2 cylinders that can alter the power even lower if needby.

How low can the .177 be turned down to?

how low are you looking to tune your .177 to? do you have a certain goal? or just curious?

i have a .22 compatto that i bought specifically for the reason to have a tuned down pesting gun and mainly to have a good shot count. i ended up being happy with my shot count and actually upped my power to a decent hunting level and still a good shot count.

I have one in .177. I got mine when they first came out and after about a year I put a Huma in it. I have had no issues with mine. Interesting to see that some have issues issues/complaints with the mag or the trigger. In my case everything is fine. The trigger is adjustable, but I have not bothered with it. Again, I have no issues with it and it is not as heave as some say as in my case. Currently have it set up to shoot the H&N 10.65gn pellets at 847 fps. I take small pest birds between 30 and 70 yards with it. Its accurate and I have stretched it a good amount farther. About 80 yards or so. Shot count is about 30ish. Never payed any attention to that I have to admit. Also its very quite if you happen to get the one with the sound suppressor. Mine came with the Huggett. I know that when they came out the offered it with the Huggett or another brand. Not sure what that was though. I went with the Huggett. I use an Aion scope with mine, but I dont think you can get those anymore. Its a good little air rifle.

not too familiar with the .177. Huma suggests 90-95 bar for 12 fpe on ,177. but there are some different parts that may affect some difference on the FAC model. im sure you could get it close.

with my .22 @ 115 bar i got 80 shots on the reg at 775 fps with the crosman 14.3 gr. ended up tuning it to 800 fps with 15.89 gr. and 130 bar for 50 shots.
