Anyone spray-painted their Crown?

Just wondering if anyone has spray painted their synthetic Crown.
Am I the only crazy one to do so?

I have always wanted to try spray painting my guns but never had the courage to do so until recently. I have watched a lot of YouTube videos where people painted their AR15 and after watching Moose's video, I plunged in head first.

I have only used two colors, tan and green for my Crown.
Here are a couple of pictures. Video to follow.

Annnnnnd of course the vid-ya:

For anyone else thinking about spray painting their gun, check out the Facebook group called "That's cool, now spray paint it" - plenty of inspiration there.

And here is a present for potential gun spray 🅱️ainters:

Nice job, Max. You’re pretty ballsy to have painted moving parts like on the scope and cocking lever area. I have painted one stock in my life, and unsure if I’ll ever do it again. For sure I’ll never paint moving parts or parts that require a lot of “touching”.
Reason being is once you nick the paint, or chip off an area, it just stares you right in the face, calling your name each and everytime, wanting to be touched back up. Then when you do remove the chassis from the stock, you have to be extra careful as that’s when the chips arise.

Hopefully you painted the chassis and the stock seperate from each other, and the two pieces aren’t glued on now.

One of the things I learned in watching Michael’s videos on paint applying is to use plastidip, as it can be easily removed if you decide you want to go back to the factory look. My red and black impact is all in plastidip, and I learned on one of the YouTube tutorials that if you want your plastidip paint job to be somewhat permanent, to spray on a clear coat on top of the plastidip when it dries, so that’s what I did on my red and black impact

Good luck on the paint job, and I hope it holds up well. The choice of colors look great!

@AirShootist. Thank you and thanks for the video link. Very cool.

@Bigragu. Ya, I was aware of the wear and tear, but I think I would be okay with that over time. My gun is meant to be used, so no big deal. Thank you.

Here is my new Crown posing with the first coyote skull on the left. It was my first coyote shot with 18gr pellet at 70 yards. Now I am hunting for my eighth with my Impact of course.

My man Max only keeps getting more based! Awesome kills man! I hope to get a yote this year with my new (unpainted....yet) .30 Panthera Hunter Compact. Stay tuned on the channel for a slug tune for that thing, which I don't think anyone's done yet.

Your paint looks fantastic. And trust me, once the paint starts getting worn it looks wayyyyyy better than fresh.

I now have 3 Pantheras. I'll give you a blurb on each:

1) Very first gen 600mm .22 Cal - This is my NRL22 competition gun. I am sitting in first place in the world right now. Well at least the USA, so essentially the world if we're going by Super Bowl rules 😉 That should tell you how I feel about that one. It's been an accurate, reliable, workhorse.

2) .22 Hunter Compact - I used it at PA Cup for my first go at Field Target and I shot pretty respectably, even when tuned below 20 ft/lbs per the rules. Not sure anyone has done that before, and the gun sure isn't designed for it, but it worked. Now I have it tuned for 18 grainers at 890fps/32fpe and it's a fricken LASER! This is my absolute go-to chipmunk destroyer! I have had it since August and it has infinity chipmunk kills on it already. This gun does not miss!

3) .30 Hunter Compact - This is brand new. I got it this month. Goal was to get 95-100 FPE out of its tiny 395mm barrel. It IS possible, but accuracy kinda sucked. So I tuned it down to 91.5 ft/lb (960ish FPS) and it's easily pinging a 4" plate at 150 yards no problem and a 5" plate at 200. Pretty dang impressive for a 395mm barrel! However I am running it at.... 175 bar! This will be the coyote gun. I'll do a video on the slug tune soon (probably) since nobody has yet made one of these a slug shooter that I know of. Hybrids are shooting super well in it, as well as HN 50 grainers and 47.2gr NSA. I will use Hybrids this season since I have gobs of them. I LOVE this gun. Like, I have it out right now just so I can hang out with it and stare at it.
