anyone used Tract Riflescopes yet?

I had a chat the other day with Jon over at Tract Riflescopes about making the ideal rifle scope for airgunners ...

context: when I used to track-race my Subaru STi, our circle of enthusiasts got together for Group Buys = niche products got made well & service was top-notch ... so I asked Jon the following question:
  • What would Tract need to offer a Riflescope for Airgunners ... with a great price for a Group Buy?
... with the competition (from highest priced $$$$s to lowest $$$):
  • March 10-60×56 HIGH MASTER SFP Super ED Tactical Turret Riflescope
  • Schmidt & Bender 12-50×56 PM II SFP P4F MT 1/8 MOA ST 1/4 MOA CCW Riflescope
  • Vortex Golden Eagle HD 15-60×52 Riflescope
  • Sightron SIII Field Target 10-50×60 FT IR MOA Riflescope
  • Nikko Stirling Diamond 10-50×60 Illuminated Mildot Riflescope
  • Hawke Sidewinder 30 SF 8-32×56 Riflescope
  • Athlon Argos BTR 6-24×50 FFP Illuminated Riflescope

Jon's answer ... without giving a price:
Hey Christian, Thanks very much for the follow up. As far as a special make up type product, a minimum order we would need to place would be 200pcs.The bigger expense in the development process is the tooling costs. Which can be in the tens of thousands, so even if we had the Minimum quantity covered by people interested in the group buy, we would have to be able to sell well above and beyond that amount to cover the tooling costs. While many companies simply place their name or logo on a product from a subcontractor to save these development costs, we choose to develop the products independently so that we can insure our products are unique. I would be very interested in learning to see what the required specs would be for such a designated air rifle scope to see what types of changes would be necessary and to see if there was anything in our current like that, with a few tweaks, might be able to meet those needs. I look forward to further conversations on this. Best regards, Jon LaCorteCo-FounderTRACT [email protected]
