Anyone using Lane Reg on R10?

Did the r10 come in an unregulated version at some point? I thought all r10 came regulated and if so I dont know why an external reg would be installed since it would already have the internal one. I replaced my bsa reg on my r10 se with a huma reg but the huma replaced the factory reg and installed in its place not externally. If some r10 came unregulated then I can see the point of this external reg.

It comes with the tench BSA regulator which isn't very good. Huma is one option but I was asking about the external Lane as he also has a good reputation for his regulators.

Yes I understand you are asking about the lane. I am wondering why anyone would want to switch the reg from the factory location to an external one that adds length to the bottle when the huma is a factory fit and keeps the bottle length the same. What happens to the factory reg if you add the lane reg in front of it? You would be running a dual reg setup and still using the factory reg. That doesnt make any sense for that rifle. Like I said if they came unregulated at some point you would want to use the lane. If you already have a factory reg and its setup the same as my r10 se reg the lane would be the wrong choice over the huma in my opinion.

Is this what your r10 looks like? The gauge and block where the reg is located? If it is I think the lane would be the wrong choice and the huma would be the way you want to go.

The factory reg would simply be removed.. As well, it makes perfect sense (to me) if you wanted to use a foster fill and a second pressure gauge. I'm either getting a huma or a Lane..

Not sure if you can simply remove the factory reg. The factory reg is installed inside that block and the block is the housing for the internals of the reg. Maybe you could gut the reg and the air will just pass thru to the valve but that I dont know.

Edit: Looking at the pics again it looks like the lane just screws in place of where the factory reg screws into the housing. Its been awhile since doing my reg so I forgot the reg housing screws into the block.

How long ago did you get the Huma ? Did it take very long to ship? My other intention is CF bottle and slightly higher FPE than the 35 fpe listed.
Probably 4 years ago maybe 5. No it didnt take very long to get it. I think I got it in 7 days or less. The cf bottle would be nice. I was going to get a cf bottle but I have other pcp rifles and I dont shoot the R10 much.

Either way 35 fpe is a little low for what I'm intending. I guess with the right HS and reg setting with a CF bottle I can maybe make 40 fpe.. All my other .25's have been 50 + fpe.. Wondering why BSA came out with a FAC .25 with not much more energy than a .22... Supposed to be very accurate though...
