Huben Anyone using the Huma GK1 regulator

Just curious if anyone is familar with these. I have a .22 GK and am not a big power guy, nor do I shoot slugs. If I could get two full magazines with a nice consistent, low ES shooting around 750 fps (maybe even a bit lower) with 16g pellets I would seriously consider it. I'm supposing that without a plenum it's not going to be very practical except at very low power. I'm also concerned about the regulator refresh rate. And then of course, it's pretty pricey.

My observation of the GK1 .25 after thousands of shots is that adding a regulator would do zero good.
I’m sure that is why Huben didn’t and isn’t going to add one to the pistol.
I can get 34 shots at 700fps using 25.4 grain pellets with a spread of 16fps…..why would you want a regulator?
That’s two full mags on one fill.

I agree, it's not a big deal. It's not like I'm unhappy with it. I was just wondering if tighter extreme spreads and longer shot strings were a possibility in the 700-750 fps range. Without a decent sized plenum I didn't think it was likely, and even if it had a plenum then you'd lose more capacity in the air tube which would most likely negate any extra shots. I was just curious if anyone had tried one.

Have one in my gk1 .177 shooting rws 9.3 supermag 640 or there about. Still work in progress.

I was having trouble with cycling when I first installed it. Started the reg set at 100 b it would cycle the striker would stick and it would just drain out lol.
So I run into a video by a guy in UK he managed to get his cycling real good at 125b set point on the reg. That's worked great with mine also. Dropped mine back down to 640fps all I need for the back yard.

Yeah, at higher pressure there’s just enough energy left after the shot to operate the mechanics. I wonder why Huma doesn’t include an optional plenum tube as they do for so many other reg conversions. I get that most people don’t want it longer but this is stuck in no man’s land. Well I guess it’s stuck in UK territory. Not casting any aspersions on you, Mike. I appreciate you trying it out and letting us know what it can and can’t do.
