.. that WAS cool... my hunting buddy got a gas powered daystate compressor from ag's of az (and about $11K of ammo, airguns, the works ,altogether , all from ag's of az).. he fills my tank , takes about , eh, 30 min ? kinda loud, gotta be in an open garage, and that special fuel.... i just have a 44cf carbon fibertank, tho... -- they messed my order up a bit with the (still unused) diana 430L i bought on sale there... they are the only ones i could find the heavier h&n field target pellets from , but they sent h&n field target trophy pellets instead , and sent an rws one-piece mount... i need the new rws 'slider' mount and that nice , sturdy-looking 3-9x32 diana scope that makes the diana 430L complete........ in fact , it was about this time inthe morning (5:45 am central) whenthey called and explained they ran out of those scopes and mounts. ( i had overlooked that in the newer ad for these , whish i had just paid the extra $50 a few months ago and got the whole pkg.) but they sent me tins of the pellets i think will this new diana piston gun will like (after 1000-2000 run in shots - forgot that about brand new dianas piston rifles and pistols even more hots). but man, that's even earlier in mtn time zone.....they must have field LOTS of orders and calls and emails every morning ! ... about this same thing happened when i got back into adult airgunning (2009). got a new .177 diana 350, for about $350 shipped back then , and the wrong pellets came that time , too. when i called , they did the same thing - wanted 9 gr milbro pellets, and they were the only ones that had that for sale then, too. but i got to (then) younger guy, and i asked him , " you have access to ALL kinds of airguns....which is your favorite ? " ..... some pcp that was really expensive...... and i said naw, man... i meant a regular (under $1000) airgun... immediately , he expained his beeman r7 / hw30 ... "HANDS DOWN !" .... hits whatever he aims at , and can shoot in the backyard with no problems... i always think about that when i rebuild the r7 / hw30 rifles here..... guys love em.. i'm not there yet.. i was a strictly magnum piston gun dude.... (21+ ftlbs) ... i'm evolving into a 12 ftlb supporter now (not to hunt with, tho.. 18+ ftlbs for that, usually)... that was cool ,tho. easy to drop 4-5K there nowdays, huh ? ....... it was like " remember me " , a simple request to remember the spartans... a simple 650 fps old german rifle that's been around since 1960 or more ,

(cont'd , second half... i talk too much about adult airguns, huh ?)

, i guess, after reading the hw history …. lookie here : — " In 1948, the Weihrauchs were forced out of their homes and factories by the communist government.
Otto Weihrauch became a mechanic and later a gunsmith in Zella-Mehlis. Werner went to work at the Jagdwaffenwerk (Hunting Weapon Factory) in nearby Suhl. Hermann Weihrauch, Jr. moved to the little German village of Mellrichstadt in Bavaria. There, with the help of his long-time hunting club friends and former customers, and his son Hans, he started the Weihrauch business all over again in the barracks of a pre-war laundry. Spare parts for bicycles were their first and main products.
When German companies were again allowed to manufacture airguns in the early 1950s, Weihrauch made their first air rifle, the HW Model 50V. This airgun had to have a smooth bore because the Allied Occupation Government would not allow rifled barrels. Finally, after the German Shooting Federation ("Deutscher Schützenbund") was re-established, the Allied government allowed the production of rifled barrels. However, because they were not allowed to produce firearms, they put their efforts into making the finest sporting airguns in the world. Even after the firearm manufacturing ban finally was withdrawn, the Hermann Weihrauch KG company continued to produce sporting air rifles of the highest quality. The little HW 25 was slanted towards the youth market while versions of the HW 30 and HW 50 continued as solid mid-market air rifles.
