Are .22 Monster RD pellets dead?

@Centercut

I haven't shot any of the new offerings that I see benchrest guys working with. I have a tin of JTS .30 pellets just sitting. If the original MRDs are dead, have you had any better results from the deep or shallow skirt MRDs? Does the skirt depth change the BC for the better or make them shoot better at a distance?
Nope. Originals, older version originals, shallow, deep, or Grand, they all have about the same BC and all eventually throw flyers. Almost no one shoots them past 50Y anymore on serious competition.

Most of the top 100Y BR shooters that used to shoot MRDs like Nicolay Boldov and Jeffrey Hernandez have moved on and no longer shoot them at the big competitions.
The only top ranked shooter I know that shoots the .22 MRDs is Fadi Kiwan, and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he didn’t want shoot them next year.

And JSB...

...DROPPED THE BALL.... 😲

Without a single word of explanation (let alone apology for all the wasted money on flyer pellets)....

.22cal MRD's have sucked for the past couple years. I got a bunch of the very first batch of the Deeps, and they aren't quite as bad - maybe 1 flyer in 10 as opposed to 2 out of 5 with the MRD's. I have some older Daystate Rangemaster pellets which are similar shape and weight, and they are exceptional, with almost no flyers.

I've tried the JTS pellets, but none of my .22cal barrels liked them - they were too tight. It's too bad because they looked extremely well made and with no bent skirts out of multiple tins.

I haven't tried AEA because I thought they were just rebranded JTS - is this not the case?

They come in different weights, but, some do look very similar.
Do you consider Daystate, AAs, FXs all JSBs?

The Daystates,Air Arms, and FX's have a dedicated die at JSB for their pellets.
each brand will only be made using that die
Same formula ... same building ..a same die shape
This is my understanding too. I have found the most quality and consistency with AA and Rangemasters. I have found FX and JSB to be about the same - meaning poor quality and consistency. This only relates to .22cal though.

Understood that they are all made at the JSB factory. But I have had much better results with the FX branded pellets for whatever reason, they shoot better.
Unsolved mystery.

same as me. Plus they're usually $3 cheaper.
In .25 especially 25.4gr(edit- specificity)

Yes, .25 caliber, FX 25.4gr especially are pretty dang good IMO anyway. AA's are close and I have a bunch of them too.
In .22 caliber, I still use the FX 25.4gr pellets, but they are not as consistent as the .25 caliber.

I abhor my experiences with anything 18.13 and lighter in JSB .22 offerings. Dog crap. The skirts are so delicate. Often get tins with +30% damaged to some degree..

In .25 the 25.4 just come perfect. However when I ordered exact kings. Shat up skirts.
AEA 25.3 center punch. FX HMK2, Atomics, jts. Never an issue. I didn't think my experience was unique. If I feed my gun a decent shape pellet. It hits exactly where I aimed.
