Umarex versions are chepened down and then more expensive. M60b is 595 elsewhere, zelos is 599 with no bottle. Still not an umarex original, so your point is moot, the only thing they can claim is someone else's stuff. Thank you though. If you are happy with that stuff good for you. If it will not hold MOA at 100yds, it is not up to par with the big dogs, you have no arguement.

Expensive, how expensive are we talking here??, so best to ask the people winning Benchrest with Thomas air guns, and I'd posit it was worth every penny to them.

I think it comes down to guns holding a zero, reliability, and precision capability. I've had expensive guns that were a total hassle, and expensive guns that were worthy and useful tools.

We're all for spending less money for something adequate for the job at hand but most often the more $ the higher the quality and that often means the general refinement is nicer.

For example, I hate crappy triggers, poor ergos, POI shifts, air leaks, and the list goes on. I prefer the opposite and will pay my way to that end.

The only reason I put FX in the subject is because that is currently what I am looking at. The question itself is for any gun that is considered in the high price range. I'm trying to get a feel for how the community feels about expensive PCP rifles.
I'm not just looking at FX rifles, just that the Maverick VP caught my eye. The Vulcan 3 that Zeke mentioned also looks appealing as well.
I've got two, technically 3 FX Mavericks, first was a .25 vp because I wanted the 600mm barrel but I swapped out the bottle for carbon/alum. More capacity, I'm not lugging it but it's not too bad. Have a .25 sniper, pre abused, converted to a .22 compact. (#2 & 3) Mavericks have their little issues but it you address them immediately you will be good to go. You'll hear about "OH all of the o-rings", meh happens on any gun. The regs work ok, if you don't do anything stupid, there are some trick to get them really nice, cheap and easy fixes with a bit of hair pulling, two very small brittle o-rings. Would I buy another, the answer is probably. I have another airgun, more expensive and it leaks, from somewhere, have yet to find it, may never find it. Both Maverick hold air forever. Both Mavericks will do in ground squirrels at 100 yards, with pellets or slugs, both AEA. Enjoy

You get what you pay for….most of the time. I would say that most expensive airguns are worth it, but I’ve had a couple ”cheaper” guns that could hang with guns costing four, five, even six times more. The most I’ve ever spent on an airgun was about $2300 on my RAW, probably wouldn’t spend that much ever again, plenty of excellent guns in the under $2000 range. Just my $.02

Wonder why you want to use .30 PCP for coyotes? In any case it will be more expensive than .22LR, both the cost of rifle and cost of round, but maybe your place permits shooting them with airgun, but bans discharging firearms?
I plan on hunting them at night and where I hunt at isn't that far from other homes. I like my neighbors (they are hunters as well and will let me hunt their land), so I rather not bother their sleep. I want to use a suppressor but don't want to be on the books for buying one, nor pay the extra tax for one.

Where I live just about anything goes for coyotes and it is legal to hunt them at all times. I could use my AR to get rid of them (this is what many people around here use). But as I said that would be too noisy. I don't have a bow/crossbow and honestly I don't want one. No offense to bow hunters, just not my thing.

Yes but you don’t have to buy a flag ship. You can start at a value or used. I started with an FX maverick VP in 30cal now I have a monster 100fpe .22 and love it I then bought an impact m3 and sold it because it was to finicky and complicated for my liking I can completely rebuild my mav in 30 mins but I chose FX because of the parts that are available. save your money and buy what you want it’s all for fun it’s just a hobby.

Moderators for airguns don't require anything but buying it. Not regulated except in a few states, check your local law. You don't give a location but I'm going to guess AZ. Just remember, more air, more noise. I've tested a bunch of Moderators and always come back to Donny FL.

For the price of an FX barrel (around $300)I can buy an entire air gun.
Many decent PCPs around $300.
You make a valid point, and while I do not own any FX guns, I do own one $300 gun, One $900 (before mods) gun, and one $1500 gun.
The $300 gun speds most of it time on the shelf. Not that it is a bad gun, but the other two are just offer a more pleasing shooting experience.

So yes, to me the more expensive guns are worth it.

Everything you buy is worth it
if it makes you happy
and your wife doesn't know about it

Your wife will catch up at some point !
Mine make me happy and my wife does know about them. But she has horses, so my hobby is economy class by comparison.;)

Nope. What I've found is that once I had accumulated 30 or so guns that my wife couldn't tell them apart. Now if I came home with a blunderbuss or a 45-70 revolver then I'd have to tell her about it, but just another airgun with a bottle up front, a springer, a Glock or bolt action rifle, those won't get a second glance.

.30 PCP is as loud as .22LR is. The only difference, yes, you can get a suppressor for PCP without A T F (Alphabet org? wth?) involved.

The solution to the wife problem is to somehow accumulate many airguns without her knowing.
After you have enough airguns she won't know the difference :)
