Are SKOUT Airguns real?

If you say Daystate and FX are worth their price points, I would have to say that Epoch is probably at least in the ballpark with the extra things coming standard. 3 barrels, extended rail with M-lok etc.

Personally, I do not ever want electronics that can fail to be what keeps me from shooting. The one thing that drew me to the PCP was that they could be valuable in a SHTF type scenario where you could hand pump if absolutely necessary. With a lifetime supply of orings and pellets already, the mechanical FX guns I have will be more than enough.

On a secondary note, the actual people behind the company are ones I would never support with a purchase. If you really want, you can do your own searches on Bill Gardner and his litigious background in the paintball industry. Suffice to say that he destroyed multiple companies with lawsuits that were involving very generous and broad patents. While his company will make a decent product and no doubt will stand behind with warranty, I would not be willing to give him a bottle of water if he were on fire after seeing what he did to that industry.

Lol, I was on the field in Philly when Billy pointed out Bob Long to his process server. As Bob Long's Touring Tech, I had front seat to all the industry BS and cut throat competition practices of the day. I have met but don't know Bill Gardner on a personal level, but he and Adam have my utmost respect. Darryl Trent, SKOUT head of sales, has been a friend for 22 years. You will not find a more decent, honest and loyal person than Darryl! I consider him to be largely responsible for the success of the Luxe Marker! I judge Bill and Adam's character by the character's of their friends and employees, I actually know quite a few for a couple decades now. The patent crap did not make Gardners rich or let them monopolize the industry. It was the family business before they found paintball.

If those three barrels would be in .22, .25 and .30 Cal, interchangeable without problem because a smart design of the magazine that just changing two O'rings they would receive diverse Cal of pellets, and those three barrels would be as accurate as the best in the market, we all would be convinced that having the money, the Skout would be a super purchase for those 3K.

There is a lot of things they could have done to make it worth 3k, hell, I’d like it to dispense a sandwich every day at noon. It’s early days and easy to pick apart. So, don’t buy one, and watch to see what happens…that’s what I would have done. I will say I easily changed the dwell on the one I have, in under a minute. I knocked 4 milliseconds off of it and the group tightened up, and the SD dropped significantly. That was way cool to me.

I thought the same thing... three calibers in one gun would be AWESOME!

Since it's not the case... what are the three different barrels, exactly?

I think many of the innovations employed on this gun are excellent and worthwhile. I also know how well choked barrels work with pellets. These barrels are not choked. I also think 3 barrels of the same caliber is a waste of money. I am skeptical and will remain so until I see 3rd party accuracy tests and results. He is going to have to be as good or better than an FX Impact M3 and that is a tough ask.

I've been in Sales off and on throughout my work history. Top man, Million Dollar club, etc. etc. and I have yet, to this day, find something that will sell itself.

If you find it let me know, I could use some commissions right about now.

Smitty
Come to think of it, there is something that does sell itself: In N Out burgers here in CA. The CMO there has the easiest job in all of marketing bc they don't ever have to do any advertising and their drive thru lines and dining areas are always packed.

But it don't think you want a job hawking their burgers...not much commission there.

I have found myself settling for something more affordable thru out my love of this sport..

I get impatient.. And just buy what seems like the best value and not holding out for the upper tier stuff..

I bought a Dreamline instead of saving for a Maverick or Impact..

I have an Avenger and love it.. I was excited to see the coming of the new Avenge-x.. I have already saved enough for it.. plus a scope.. Case.. and so on..

Then I thought.. If this Epoch.. Shakes out in the real life reviews.. To be all that.. and it swings toe to toe with a Mark 3.. And it's features are for real..

I am going to need to do some serious consideration toward getting on board..

Buying a 3k plus Daystate.. does not do it for me personally.. Tricking out an Impact would be more my thing.. But everyone and their dog.. has an Impact..

With that said.. I am certainly going to watch the Epoch closely.. and willing to pull the trigger (don't laugh) if they pan out..

I don't think there will be many to be had for some months ahead.. Which will give time to see what they actually turn out to be..

I like to have something truly different.. If different is up to the hype..

Watching closely with an unhealthy lust for one..

Be Well All

I'm betting we'll see a couple (sponsored) at the Northeast Airgun Classic. I hope they shoot JSB .30 pellets, either the 44.75 or 50.1, doesn't matter. What I don't want to see is the gun shooting the new 56 grain ZAN pellets, since that'll negate anyone being able to compare apples to apples with two variables.

I also think we might see one at the end of April event in Ashland Oregon where we are shooting EFT and 100Y BR. If @stoti shoots it, it'll be a NON sponsored one so even better... If he doesn't shoot it and instead shoots an Impact or Daystate, that'll also tell us something.

It might be interesting to see the Epoch and the Panthera head to head in Competion..

Both being the new kids on the block.. and all..

It sounded like Skout was offering incentives.. if anyone wins a major event.. with their product..

The FX Panthera shooters should easily out number the Epoch guys or gals.. So it will probadly be a tall order to out shine them..

We'll still see more Impacts than anything else... Why would the Panthera be any different from the Impact, since they're shooting pellets with the exact same barrels...?

Hadn't heard of this EPOCH incentive, but don't know any of the top shooters that are shooting one?

Let's not start off the conversation with excuses up front. If its "groundbreaking", "the next generation" and "all that", it shouldn't matter if only a couple of shooters compete with them.
