Are there any youth/short stock factory springers?

I got the Stoeger X3’s for my grandsons. Good little rifles.

Specifically a springer? How about a Daisy Avanti single stroke pneumatic? These are designed for junior shooters. I have two from the Civilian Marksmanship Program. They are reconditioned rifles (you can buy new versions fron retailers). Both have been very accurate rifles. They are meant for 10 meter junior competition but I also plink with them out to 20 yards.

Hw30. Only problem with those are verical stringing which could be caused by screws not being tight.
Knew this would turn up. Hw30 DOES NOT have a short stock. Length of pull is 14 inches. Longer than 90% of commercially available adult rimfire and centerfire rifles.. I don't know how many times this has be addressed. The Hw30 is short and light overall but not youth sized where it counts.

Fwiw Loose screws are easily fixed and not always the culprit of vertical stringing with this model. If you have one and have a problem start another thread about it and I'll answer it there.

Thanks for correcting me. I guesd length of pull is where it would count for a youth.
I don't want to veer of topic from the op but I don't have my HW30 anymore but for me when it started doing the vertical stringing I looked it up and it was a common issue. I would love to know what causes that maybe I will start a different thread.

Ya, even with my big hand long fingers ive looked over and over at them setback triggers to get a bit of relief..lol

Wouldn’t be the end of the world to get a HW30 and cut the stock down. If one desires this German quality and not China stuff then go for it. The kids will remember and have a classic for the rest of their lives.
Yeah that was my first thought too. Set back trigger first and if needed, any competent wood worker could shorten the stock a smidge and refit the butt pad.

I would save the 1-2 inch cutoff with the original butt pad In tact. Put a thin new pad on the new cut. The original could be reapplied as the kids grown into it.

What I meant was shave the sides down some, not the actual thickness. With the stock shortened the pad will be too tall and/or wide. It'll stick out like a sore thumb and look pretty silly.

Owning both, neither of them is anywhere near a youth sized rifle and both take the same cocking effort your Model 95 does...lol.
The Stoeger X3 is a very decent rifle and I had one, but they should have kept the wood stocks. Mine after tinkering and a stock refinish. Now owned or was by Tom Woods after I gave it to him to teach his grandkids how to shoot.

The Ruger Explorer also isn't a bad rifle for trying to get kids interested and teaching them to shoot. Bought one for my great niece, tricked it with a paint color she liked and she still has it. Quite accurate out to the 20 yards I had her shooting.

I noticed a lot of the youth oriented things( guns) are fading away..antigun/ woke ya know.

I understand what you meant. The problem with using the original butt pad is, being as thick as is is forces more wood off the stock. Then the predrilled holes in the pad are to far apart and the lower new one needs to be drilled. It might even catch the original lower hole in the grind to fit. So why monkey with it. Just put a new very thin pad on, keeping as much wood on the stock as can be kept. I would make a thin black line spacer and mount the left over stock/pad back into the new butt pad holes for future use. Now the youths can grow into it.

Yeah we seem to get the short end of the stick there. If Gamo would bring the Bone Collector out minus the mag system I'd buy that in a heart beat as a truck gun. They make something similar with that stock but it has that ridiculous looking "Whisper" silencer on it.

Edit: Preferably ditch the gas ram too but I could make it work for me regardless.
