I wanted a GK1 for a while. When I decided it was time to make a purchase, Krazy Cool did not have any in stock. I then found a list of authorized Huben dealers and saw Ares Airguns Tactical was on it. Then I checked their site and what do you know? They had some GK1s in stock and offered free shipping!! Consequently, I put a GK1 in my cart and perused their other Huben products. I ended up purchasing an aftermarket loading gate (which turned out to be a sturdy metal flip-up gate) and an extra magazine release arm. This was advertised to be made of steel but it looks pretty similar to the cast iron factory part (see photo below).

*I may be wrong on the actual metal makeup of this component going off of appearance. You be the judge.
The replacement magazine release arm and metal loading gate both have Ares branding on them. So I placed my order and recieved a shipping confirmation in good time. What was a little irksome was that I was charged $9.50 for shipping when the gun was advertised as having “free shipping. The small additional items I purchased were very lightweight and could easily fit within the hard case with the GK1. They should not warrant additional shipping charges. (see photo below for free shipping ad).
After placing my order, I found their contact info (there is no listed phone number to contact Ares). I sent an email via a contact form asking why I was charged for shipping after ordering additional small items and there was already free shipping offered on the largest product that I purchased. I got a prompt response from the owner (Zachary) stating that when purchasing additional items their system automatically adds shipping. To me it’s $9.50 and not a big deal, but I did suggest that the owner correct the issue or at least explain this on his site so that potential customers know before they get to the checkout process. He was politely receptive to my suggestion, but I don’t think he’s made any changes to the site regarding the feee shipping. If you want free shipping for the GK1 order the gun only. Read his response below.
I was hesitant to order from them as I was pretty unfamiliar with this shop prior to making my first purchase from them. After checking AGN feedback, I saw a number of new members or members with sparse activity in the forums speaking positively about this shop. This was not reassuring. I then read reviews on the shop and saw mostly good or neutral comments. I also saw what appear to have been the company’s Facebook presence for a couple of years. I then decided that it was safe to shop with them. See photos of packing job below.
My order arrived within around 4 days I think. Tracking info was provided and my GK1 was adequately protected within the shipping box. My GK1 appeared new upon arrival and it shoots good. Zachary’s communication was prompt via email after contacting him via the site’s contact form. In my experience he responded within 24 - 36 hours. Based upon my experience I’d rate this shop a 7 out of 10. -1 for the free shipping info, -1 for the questionable magazine release arm material versus what is advertised, -1 for no telephone contact information and not adding a visible warning on the site to customers about how to take advantage of free shipping in the event they want to purchase other items. Overall I’m satisfied with my purchase and I now have more confidence in this shop, although it wouldn’t be my first choice - maybe my second to purchase a new GK1 that’s in stock.
