Argos 6-24x50 Rings For Veteran

Hey All,



I’m looking for rings for my Athlon Argos 6-24x50 to put on my Taipan Veteran. I thought I had things figured out with the one piece mount I bought but found out that the center part of the scope wouldn’t fit between the two rings. Now after going back to the drawing board looking for a two piece system and reading a million different opinions about $20 rings vs $200 rings my head is spinning! I don’t want to spend more money than I have to but I don’t want to be frustrated or damage the scope. I’m also second guessing medium vs high due to the extra height from the pic rail. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Which one piece mount do you have? I like one piece myself, but sometimes they just won’t work because the scope or the rifle and you have to use rings. I like the UTG Pro, these are made in the USA and are nicer than some of the other styles that UTG imports. I recently used a set of the Arken Optics Halo rings and thought they were a good value considering the cost. You can find the UTG for about $50 and the Arken for $60. I don’t think you need to spend $200 on a set of rings for a PCP air rifle that doesn’t recoil. There are other good low cost rings available but I have used these with good results.

I have the same scope, and used eaglevision adjustable rings for mine. Wanted to be able to keep it optically centered at the distance I normally shoot. They work great, and have pic rails on them in case you wanna run a flashlight or laser or something else.

I like the Eagle Vision and have them on several guns that I shoot at long range and click the scopes I have three Vets. and have UTG PRO rings on them. The Vets have 20 MOA built in and the Pro rings work fine, but I will put Eagle Vision adjustable rings on my .25 long at some point because it is a 100 yard gun that I would rather click than hold over

The UTG Accu-Sync might work for you in a one piece mount. I just tried my Crimson Trace 3 series scope in it and it fits fine. The Crimson Trace is a large scope, pics below with dime on turret for size reference.

It actually was the Accu-Sync that wouldn’t fit. It wasn’t the turrets that were blocking, the body bulges out to accommodate them.

that UTG accu-sync has a 34mm offset, the Argos needs the 50mm offset

I have the same scope on the same gun and it's a great pairing. I'm neurotic about scope ring cant, so I only use Warne Maxima (steel) or Warne Vapor (aluminum) due to their design. The high rings fit perfectly for me.

Vortex precision rings all I buy now. Buy once, cry once. Best I have ever used on air or powder. The cheaper sets are quality as well, just not matched. Plus they make a 34mm set.

I run UTG pro medium height on both my vets. Around 50-60 bucks.

I have 5 of the UTG accu-sync mounts, I will NOT buy anymore! The last one gave me a side to side cant, that made me look closely at the rail to mount contact area. I found that I could see daylight on the left (ridged side) where the V contacts. The mounts barely contacts or catches pic rail, maybe only 1/16" contact. I am looking at replacing them with better Quality mounts

+1 on the Vortex rings didn’t go all the way for the precision but with a 50 objective lens the high mount worked best for my Veteran.
