Armada = Marauder with tactical clothes?

bill_dd97If you like being able to add accessories to your rifle the Armada may be a good choice. I've considered ordering one for night hunts as the rails would make attaching lights and camera accessories easy.

Bill, I agree, I have thought about ordering one just for night hunts. Lots of versatility with the Armada. If I didn't already have 6 Marauders, I would already have an Armada. Lol.

I have a gen II Marauder that I converted to an Armada. Everything matches the same except the receiver rail is picatinny on the Armada. Yeah, I know this sounds like a over priced idea, but I really wanted an adjustable stock for the fit. Here's what I learned; all the parts fit with no issue.Cost is about $100 from Crosman for their parts, then I bought/had the AR hand grip, Mil spec buffer tube and adjustable stock. These parts can be had for $50 - $70 depending on what you pick. (This allows you to pick the stock you like and grip). Midway is a good source.

After I did the build (which takes no time), I spent some time with the gun and realized I love the stock, but hated the heavier front end. It doesn't seem like the hand rail should add that much weight, but it was noticeable. So I decided to ditch the handguard and put the old barrel band back on. Losing the handguard also allowed me to drop the scope mounts from High to mediums.

It's not the prettiest looking gun, but it fits me and is more comfortable to carry in the woods. The handguard is $58, so if you deleted that you could do the build for a around $100.

The Crosman parts needed are:
2264T-001 Receiver $25.67
2264T-002 Receiver Cap 12.30
2220-003 Screws for Receiver Cap $1.15 (you need 4, I can't remember if you need 4 of these or not. They're just button head 8x32 by .375)
Go check out the exploaded view of the Armada to see the parts

Hope this helps a few of you decide on the build you want and saves you some cash.

AJ - I've not handled the Armada, only seen pictures, so my assumptions could be wrong. My assumption is that there is a lot of bolted on plastic. Maybe GunBros can straighten me out if I'm wrong.
I like the Teryx because the chassis is machined aluminum, it feels solid. The Marauder action drops into it perfectly, and you don't worry about the pic rail giving in like you would with a plastic one (I'm thinking of a clamped on bipod here). I think it balances pretty well too.

Bill = R Arms was at GTA's member shoot a couple months ago, and they had several chassis on the table then. If you were really interested you should give them a call. Baker Airguns still has them as well https://www.bakerairguns.com/?product_cat=parts&s=teryx When I talked to the R Arms owner that day, he said he was thinking about just selling his stuff through sites like Baker so he could get away from the extra time it takes to sell direct - he has kids and another full time job. The point is that I don't think Teryx is discontinued, just changing distribution.

I'd have to say the Armada parts are not as nice as the Teryx, but the price is a lot less. The receiver is made of a nice composite material and the hand guard is a very nice piece of cnc machined aluminum. For reference the handguard weighs in at 13 3/4 oz. Also, I've come up with a solution for a sling and tripod. I'm using 2 stainless steel zip ties and 3M tape to hold a rail onto the reservoir. So far its working great.

Synrod converted to armada:

Guess I prefer stronger points of contact for a sling:

Made a LW hammer for it (its unregulated)

Short list of mods: SSG, made a LW nylon hammer, depinger, RAW trigger blade, de-lawyer spring, made a stripper & LDC, main tube deburred & polished, bore polished, fresh crown, trigger group polished at contact points (usual mods most do). When it was in its synrod form it dispatched 6 yotes around my house (yote killed our family dog last year so it has been raining lead on the local pack). Since it's conversion it has dropped two more.....I like the way it feels/handles in the armada form for what I use it for. I like this configuration over the tyrex because the handguard protects the shroud when I grab it and it seems to help keep the POI from changing (shroud see less contact). IMO the tyrex chassis is too short (forearm portion). I have a friend that uses one, I don't care for it too much. my $.02

Current tune:

LDC:

I powder coated the LDC, (that's its current finish).

LDC before its finished design, I was working on the internals at that time.
LDC is 1.5" 7075, 10" OAL
I made the LDC so that the shroud recess into the LDC roughly an inch when threaded on.

Stripper:

The prod with the LDC I made for it is stupid quiet

As far as night hunting with an Armada (mentioned in a post above) it has plenty of mount locations if you install the 1913 rail where you need it. When mine was in synrod form I made a DIY NV. That mounts on the optic's eyebell. It can be switched to any AG or PB gun in less than 30 seconds. I mount the IR on the forearm. Here is the NV mounted when it was a synrod:
