Artemis PP700 –🔶– My Personal Summary of Fixes, Mods, Parts, Tuning, Tests...

Which setting did you keep, 100 or 85bar? What pellet you settled on?

Great, thanks. I started at 86bar but only get 233fps on 15.9gr. spring is on loose end. I will set to 125bar to try.

I set up mine at 125bar, adjusted the transfer port and hammer, and reached maximum 645fps with 15.9gr Normal pellets, much lower than what you are getting.

Wondering what could be the difference. Maybe there is variation in transfer port size?

Sir, PP700s often do have different sized transfer ports in the falling block breech, I've seen em from 0.7 mm to 3.5 mm and everything between, In many countries air pistols are limited to 3 or 4 ft pound, (6ft pound in the UK) but with a little effort can be brought up to around 10 ft pound.

I understand different countries have different sizes. Mine is US version. Just trying to see if something else I could adjust.

If my transfer port size is indeed smaller then my options are limited, unless I drill it to make it bigger. I may try a thicker O-ring

So there are a few tweaks you can do, (1) open the trasfer port in the breech block. Normally it has an Adjuster allen screw in the top, often you can back it off to open up the TP, and / or you can open the TP itself to about 2.5 mm to see if it improves. Do it gradually.
(2) Take the pistol grip off, on the bottom of the alloy casting is a nut attached to the hammer spring rat tail, turning it in increases the hammer pressure thus increasing the valve open time. ( but also increases cocking effort).
(3) On some a peculiar annoying fault can be the rat tail that the hammer spring slides over is often too tight, thus causing drag on the hammer actually slowing down the hammer strike. The spring should slide very easily along its length, if it drags sand the rat tail down til does work freely.

Thanks, I did 1) and 2) already and the maximum I got is 645fps. I backoff a little to increase shot counts. 3) I have not tried. I may increase the Huma regulator set pressure to 135bar but that may reduce my number of shots significantly

Where did you get the extra long air tube?
Cobbled it together myself using a shorty piece of Aluminum Marauder air tube & fill end, Machined the breech end to screw onto the male OEM spigot of Reg ( OEM Reg gutted and bypassed )
A definite one off modification
As built in .20 cal at 15" it shoots a JSB 13.73 @ 800 fps for > 20 fpe getting @ 45 shots

Brilliant! Indeed it is one off.

Continuing about my PP700 with Huma Regulator.

Regulator is set at 125 bar. However, the speed starts to dropoff at 160bar. Also it is necessary to wait for 2 minutes between the shots, otherwise the speed will be lower.

The heavier weight pellet tend to have more energy, JSB is more energy than other brands.

I am debating which pellet should I stick with for the current setting. Seems JSB 18.13gr to be a good compromise between speed vs energy. Any thoughts?
