Arts and Crafts with the Talonp

Hey there.



Have nothing to do here because it was my day off. So I decided to start a project: make the best shoulder stock for the Talonp out there. This was my prototype, and I have a few changes I am going to make, and I will post that model when I am done in a few days. Next week I think I am also going to build a hinged collapsing stock, but I am wanting a few eccentric features on it.



The wood is walnut, and the metal mostly aluminum and a little brass and stainless steel. Works great and is highly adjustable in the current model, but cannot be detached (easy to fix that). Can’t wait for model 2!

I’m also messing with what colors look good with the Walnut. Realtree does!



I like the Walnut wood. Adds a little retro something. Better stop talking colors and go out and shoot tomorrow

I'd use 2 press fitted PVC pipes so it's easily slid on and off the bottle. Use Pledge (LEMON SCENTED that has a lot more uses than one can ever imagine) to wax the bottle first. Similar to this... You are going to do it in the opposite direction...

Hey penguin - I'm curious how you pinned the wood to the metal - that looks real clean.

Oh thanks. Epoxied a brass rod in going through the wood and then the aluminum and then into the wood again. I had to obviously drill a hole the same diameter as the rod. Finished by hand sanding.

I am building a second model right now with some improvements hopefully to be done soon. And then I am going to do a folding one I have planned for a friend of mine using the same materials.
