FT Match Report Arlington Sportsman’s Club 03/22/2025
Welcome to the ASC FT March Madness match report! It wasn’t a mad match, but it was full of attendees mad about the upcoming Republic of Texas GP and State Championship. This was a tune-up match for the ROT that is next month, so I think that is why we had 22 shooters in attendance. The course this month was a harder than usual with 58 shots over 15 lanes with two targets on each and two offhand lanes and one kneeling lane. Scott and I once again setup the course on Friday afternoon in the sunny but windy conditions, but he was unable to attend once again.
Match day dawned cool with a little wind, but the temps and the windspeeds rose as the day went on topping out at 82F and 15mph winds. The lower scores reflected the wind blowing through the trees that is often unseen. The Troyer was 34.4, SD 4.97, Avg Dist 31.6 yds, and Avg KZ 1.04”. The wind made the course more challenging than 34T for sure! We had a few new shooters that were forced to deal with the difficult course conditions, but they did so with smiles on their faces. There were a couple of uncommon target malfunctions that need addressing, but most everything ran smoothly.
Here are the results for March:
Scotty H won Hunter PCP and HOA with 51/58 shooting his RAW TM1000, followed by Brian S in 2nd with 46/58 shooting his FX Crown, and then Caleb D in 3rd with 45/58 shooting his Daystate Huntsman. Buddy W shot 31/58 in Unlimited with his Daystate Wolverine. Rick K was unchallenged in Hunter Piston again with 23/58 shooting his HW97K. I topped the WFTF class with 41/58 shooting my ’92 Air Arms NJR100 again. You can see the results below and also be sure to review the results at https://airgunshoot.com/ that shows the average score on each lane, your score on each lane, your hit percentage by lane or near/mid/far targets, how you compare to your class average, your class winner, and the HOA winner. Thanks to Scott Cotton for his continuing work on this.
Thanks to everyone for helping take down the course, it was very much appreciated, and thanks for coming out for what turned out to be our largest match of 2025 so far. See you next month on Friday – Sunday, March 25-27 for the Republic of Texas GP match.
See you at the next next match,
