ASC FT Match is Saturday September 23

Good evening everyone,
ASC will have our next FT match on Saturday September 23, 2023 (the 4th Saturday of the month as usual) starting at 9:00am. This will be another 60-shot salty match with 2 targets per lane on 15 lanes to give those attending the AAFTA Nats to have one last practice session. There will be standing AND kneeling lanes for your shooting pleasure, so do some yoga before match day. The MD is always available to address medical exclusions presented by handicapped shooters.

Gates will open at 7:30 for sight in and sign up.
Safety meeting at 8:45. Rifle match to start at 9:00am.
All rifles must be in a case or rifle carrier when moving between lanes.
Please note that it is a club rule that all shooters wear appropriate EYE protection. We don't have extras so remember to bring your own.

I wanted to make you aware of two things at our FT match next Saturday, September 23.

1. We are going to try a little fun competition after the match. We will have a little kneeling challenge to see who is the best on their knee. Participation will be optional. If you want to try your luck, entry will be $1 and the winner will get the pot. If any of our non-kneelers want to join the fun we can also have an "unsupported" challenge, where you would shoot seated without sticks or support. So stick around after the match and we'll have some extra fun.
2. Mark Welker, one of the traveling Okies, has offered to fill your air tanks for $5 each. That is probably 1/3 the cost to fill them at a dive shop, so bring all your empty tanks and have Mark fill them at the match.

I CAN'T WAIT! That sounds like more fun that oral surgery! Can we assume the Kneeling Challenge and Unsupported Challenge can be optionally shot standing offhand? I'm not normally a gambling man, but...

How about this, Ron. You can shoot the kneeling challenge standing and you can shoot the unsupported challenge mullet-style (seated, upper body unsupported, which is actually how you currently shoot kneeling). So bring 2 extra dollars.

Dont forget that there is an AAFTA Field Target match in DFW this Saturday. It will be 60-shots over 15 lanes and have a 34 Troyer rating to give shooters going to the Nationals one last chance to practice/tune their setup.
