AT44 short and a regulator.

Got around to ordering a regulator from air superiority. While I wait for it to arrive I've been putting my new range finder to use see where my targets in the were distance wise. My big election board that I hang targets on is at a perfect 40yds from where I shoot. The other just happened to be 25yds.

So now for the questions. There anyone that can tell me what they might have theirs set at for a .22?

I have an AT44 short also. I installed a Robert Lane reg. in it last year. I get about 35 shots that stay pretty consistent @ 905 fps using 14.3 gr pellets before it drops off the reg. at about 1750 psi. I'm sited in at 40 yds because that's exactly the distance from my front window to the top of the power lines in front of my house & the starlings just love to land there. Very good gun for the money.

Regulator arrived today and I managed to get it installed properly I think, and its set at 117 bar by the scale on the regulator. No leaks so far so sometime in the next few days I'm going to try to get some chrony numbers on it and see where she sits, then I'll begin fiddling with the hammer spring to get it tuned in better. Of course if a house sparrow or starling shows up they may get a taste of the regulator before the chrony does.

Well tonight I got around to doing some night shots using a couple 24 LED lights to work the chrony. First setting for the regulator was at 117 like I posted before, and the shots were from 816 to 819. Pulled the reg out and reset to 124, shots were then from 836 to 840. Another pull out and a set to what I estimated as 130 bar finally got me up past 850, which I'm happy with. I'm guessing from here I'll need to adjust the hammer spring to do some fine tuning.

Also accuracy wise after getting a range finder and the correct measuring tool I found my 25yd groups were .32 inches ctc. So accuracy wise while shooting on the curve before the regulator I was doing good. I expect to get the same grouping and maybe a few more shots

Did some groups tonight, and accuracy is the same as before the regulator. In fact I didn't have to do any adjustments scope wise. Also discovered the Air Arms 18gr pellets are almost as accurate as the JSB's. At 40yds the groups began to open up some, but that's mostly because I just can't get a good view on the target at night even with a 200w outdoor light near me.
