I think that the "50" in the serial number is an accounting thing. Done all the time. It's probably more like a number that "stands for" the AP16 in the books.

That makes sense. I like the serial number that include a manufacture date. Based on the dates of the air cylinders, I have to wonder how long these have been sitting around!

If you do auto-generated subtitles you can get some details. He says he got them from a comrade on the gans.ru? forum for 3,500 of whatever money format is in use. Seems like he says he got them because the little mags were too hard to load. They look neat, but very clunky.

Mike - you should check out the wood target grip for the AP16. I love it - fills the hand like a nice fat Ergo grip. I have large hands and it's perfect for me.

I really like Hogue grips, so if they fit and you are happy, great. IMO the wood grip is worth its price. It completely replaces the stock grip and gives a bit more angle for the wrist.

Yea, I looked at Hogue a little while ago. Seems that they have a rubber (and plastic) panels that have "palm swells". They also have "thicker" than original panels.
Thinking of giving either or both of them a try.
ct - Which wood grip are you talking about ? The one offered by Pyramyd Air or an aftermarket one offered by OpticsPlanet ? The Pyramyd grip's been on backorder for a LONG time.

Anyway, Looks like I will be adjusting the trigger after all. Not cocked, the trigger feels great, but as cocked, the first stage is still smooth and free. But the "wall" is very imprecise, and continuing the pull, is also a bit gritty. Don't understand this. Never had a gun of any kind, had the trigger feel different after cocking the weapon. Hopefully, this can be adjusted out.
Anyone else feel a difference with their AP16's ?

Yep - there is a difference. Remove the grip, pull out the safety, and then remove the cover on the left side covering the the triggers workings. This will let you visually see what you are adjusting and should help a bit so you don't make it too touchy.

Well, on one hand, I think that I fixed the problem with the three trigger screws. I ended up having a single stage trigger, so I had to back up on the first stage screw (I went too far). The first stage is short now, the wall is fairly solid, the let off is quick, AND smooth now. My first trigger pull...wasn't, I just "thought about it" and it went off ! Ok, use some care and all will be good. Went through two magazines, seems like a good trigger now.
ct - Remove the safety and don't put it back ? Is this what you are saying ? I have no problem with this, just want to make sure of what you are saying.
Will go more into the trigger working to see how the parts are working together as you say.

I made my iron sights a bit more visible to these tired old eyes! Much easier to acquire the target now.
I can also confirm standard 1911 grips will fit with no modifications. You do have to use the grip screws from the pistol because standard 1911 grip screws don't work!

I have a pair of the Hogue, "over molded, palm swell" grips on the way. Be here next week.
I also thought of doing my own. Like I did with my Maverick. I think I have a old pair of grips. If I can find them...I'll put some thin plastic tape on the metallic part of the grip for protection. Put the grip panel on the gun. Mix up some of my Marine epoxy, spread it onto the grip, and grab ahold of the gun, index finger on the trigger. That way, it fits...ME...
This worked out really well on the grip on my Maverick. This picture, the grip is on my RTI Prophet. I swapped it to the Maverick, it actually feels better on that gun.
I also removed the SeeAll sight from my AP16. I couldn't get the sight to adjust low enough. I swapped a Holosun pistol sight from another gun onto the AP16. Oddly enough, the SeeAll adjusted just fine on the other gun, both guns are happy now.

Received the Hogue "palm swell" grips.
Well, they are better than the normal width panels, but not exactly what I'd hoped for. Nice and grippy though. No moving around in your hand.
The Holosun HS507C, sight's working out well. With a VERY short 11mm to Pic/Weaver adapter, it's as close to the bore center as possible.
