You have great skill!
Very cool that you're able to drastically improve the appearance of your guns!!
I was tempted to write: "Let me know if you're ever going to sell one — I'd be a potential buyer."
But you probably won't sell those anyhow....
Your beautiful color modifications couldn't be a starker contrast to my own attempts at making my pistols look better:
Obedient to the general forum recommendation to "simply paint wood with black truck bed liner" if you don't like wood stocks (but wood furniture in your living room) — I did just that with the GK1 grip.
After a few shooting sessions the paint is coming off in large flakes....
No idea why. And how to do it any better.
Yeah, I'm talented that way....
Cheers,
Matthias
You can always send your handles to me and ill see what I can come up with. I only need the handles so I can create a digital file. Then I can work many ideas till it suits me without damaging original handles. I even machined a set of grips out of pre historic Mastadon teeth. And also N5 Titanium. I'm no woodworker but did change color on my GK1 grip successfully with oil based wood stain. Watch YouTube woodworking videos for help and for choosing which finish to use.
Use paint stripper on the flaking grips first. Do the paint stripper step several times and use a tooth brush to remove everything in the checking. Rinse and toothbrush under running water several times to remove all chemicals. And then wash and toothbrush all over with Dawn dish soap to remove oils. Rub the grip with fine steel wool to "sand" prep the wood smooth. Any scratches will show up, so sand and smooth as necessary.
Use wood stain instead of painting on bed liner or wood dyes (wood dyes are like paints). Use a wood stain to soak the black color into the wood, let dry, dye it again, and again. Choose either water- based or oil-based stain depending on the final finish.
I used an oil based stain and didn't "seal" the wood with any polymer coatings. I use Howard Feed-N-Wax conditioner to seal, protect, and clean as necessary. The natural wood grips feel much better.
Slow and steady wins the race.

I'll take three of those grips, please:
1 Mastadon grip — for the GK1
1 Ankylosaurus grip (from the tail club) — for the PP700
1 Tyrannosaurus grip (from the fingernails) — for the RTI Prophet

All kidding aside, that's pretty cool what you're doing!!
➠ Since live and shoot on the other side of the Equator, it's a bit more complicated with sending stuff back and forth.
Cheers,
Matthias
I agree...The build quality extremely well done...too bad they are not being imported again. One of my favorite air pistols...extremely well built
