Ataman BP17 pressure gauge question

Question to bp17 owners, I am sure I’m not the only one that has a hard time seeing the gauge when filling the rifle, sucks that they recessed the gauge like 2” in the stock and barley see it, has anybody added an extension to the gauge to bring it closer to the end of the stock? I know adding an extension will create 2 possible leak areas instead of one, looks like a smaller gauge also maybe 25mm? Would be nice to add a Seckmt digital gauge too..anybody know the size? Standard 1/8bsp? I love this little rifle but hate the gauge location!

I like my BP17 too.

But when I fill, I do not use the guns gauge for a place to stop. I use the 2-1/2" Wika gauge on my fill tank as the "actual" pressure. Yeah, I normally do give the guns gauge a glance, but don't rely on if for being accurate.
I was "assured..." (by the selling shop) that the big Wika gauge that I, have is +/- 50 psi. I don't know ! I've ben thinking about building a test manifold with a high end, certifiable gauge as the Master. Haven't done it yet..!

And yes, you are correct, most times, I need a flashlight to see into that damned tunnel !

There are high pressure sealers available (McMaster Carr, Grainger). I'd use the OEM form of sealing, in the gun well, and a high pressure sealer on the gauge. This makes the normal leak path, back to, just...the guns interface, one place.
Don't recall the name brand that I found, but it's a paste (tube) that claimed 10,000 psi sealing capabilities in the McMaster Car catalog. I'd assume that, that's a mostly permanent connection after that !
I had to use it on one of my guns. So far, no leakage.
