You do Not get what you pay for, never will, sure if you got the money you can afford to get whatever you want, that said you will Always pay a lot more for the last 10% of improvement...I am talking hundreds of dollars more,do it if you can afford it,butt I think the money can go on better things than overpriced scopes that most people do not use for over 100yd shots.....
The most important part of optics buying is to Research, like what do you really need for your purpose....me I hate heavy scopes with useless doodads
OK,I am older and have less income to splurge on scopes.....Truthfully I have more time to research and less money to spend; I want the best bang for my buck.......That leaves out cheap scopes........and expensive scopes.....
I know it is wrong to generalize, butt I do anyhow....with research and maybe buying used you can start getting a good scope at $120....and good for 50 yds.....and it takes at the least $100 more to see better at $100 yes....
The thing my friends is the longer the distance you shot the better the optics you need....also the higher the power you use the better the optices you need......
Truth be told if I was rich I would research less and pay more,LOL.
These opinions can be nullified by your experiences.....as Jimi said,"Are You Experienced",LOL...
