Athlon Talos BTR 4-14x44 FFP $197.99 at Midway USA

I haven’t seen them priced this low before. I’m guessing Athlon might be releasing a Gen 2 version of this scope soon.

I got one three weeks ago. A lot of scope for $200. No its not as nice as scopes that cost three or four times as much but..... Yeah its a China scope but it seems to be a good fit for my close out Hatsan AT44QE Looooong in .25. Some say the turrets have under 1% error but I would have to see that but its possible. But once you develop a dope chart just use the reticle to account for hold overs. I understand the illuminated feature is not strong enough for daylight but I would only use it around dusk or dawn. So far zero buyers remorse but its got a good warranty.

You guessed correct. The Gen 2 has been out for a while. Thats a lot of scope for $200. I contacted them and they said ok for springers and will warranty if it breaks. It might be fine on a 12 ft. lb.er but I would bet a magnum springer would eventually destroy it.

I put a different Athon Talos on my most accurate PCP, a P35 in 22 caliber, and am happy with it. I got the 6-24x50 for under $200 from Pyramid on a Thanksgiving day sale last year. For target shooting I love it. For hunting I'm not sure, the reticle is quite thin but I can turn up the illumination if I can't see it. We'll see. But even if I end up with a different mil dot scope for hunting I will use my Athlon for targets. Nice and clear, especially for the price, and the parallax adjustment seems to work especially well for a bullpup. Mine will adjust down to 8 yards and the difference in yardage out to about 20 yards is relatively large. Close in bullpups tend to shoot low so understanding the distance is more important than with a gun with the scope closer to the bore.
