Athlon updated a few of their optics to include a 10yd parallax

Many Athlon optics in the past were limited to a 15 and 25yd parallax. Recently I was on their website and noticed several of them were now listing parallax down to 10yds including the Argos BTR Gen 2 10-40x and the Ares BTR 4.5-27x50. I had concidered using the Argos for Field Target but the 15yd minimum was a no-go for obvious reasons.

Just thought it was worth pointing out just in case anyone else had steered away from them in the past for that reason like I had. Athlon makes amazing optics for the money and now they are officially in the playing field for our hobby as well.

However, I'm not seeing the 10y parallax.

Thats weird. I could have SWORN the Ares BTR was one of the ones I took notice of yesterday but it appears you are correct. Maybe I had looked at two different Argos optics...

Their Helos BTR Gen2 has 10y parallax. I have more a expensive scope on my Bench Rest gun but this is what I use on my hunting gun. Great scope for the money!

The Helos is a great optic. I was just really excited because I thought they brought most of the line down to 10yds. I seem to have jumped the gun though here. The 10-40 Argos was definitely updated though so I know I'm not completely losing my mind haha

Agreed, the gen2 Helos is a wonderful scope! I just wish that they would have used the same reticle line thickness as the Gen1 (6-24X @ 16X). The Gen2 is a bit too fine for me and requires the IR under low light. I also wish that Athlon would offer an affordable 5-6” side wheel. Uj

It's too bad Athlon doesn't have a 10 yd parameter in their search function. I have noticed that some of the specs on their webpage doesn't jive with specs on some retailers web sites. (sometimes)

But Athlon is one of the few companies that publishes a specs table in their catalog (for download on their website).
And it has a colum for the min. parallax.

It's the Ares BTR 2.5-15x50 that has the 10Y minimum focus. The 25Y minimum focus on the Ares BTR 4.5-27x50 is the main reason I sold mine but I find the glass in the Helos G2 6-24 to be nearly as good and it has 10Y minimum focus.
