Match report for Airgunning Atlanta March match 2023
Good group of 14 shooters came out to enjoy the day shooting FT. Stan and Dennis drove down from north Georgia to shoot their first FT match, we are honored to introduce them to our wonderful sport.
Challenges of the day we're cold temperature and tricky winds. Some of us were up to it, some not as much but all had lots of fun. We started the match at 36 degrees with 10-15 mph switching winds to finish up at 45 degrees and overcast.
Many of us are going to Baton Rouge next month for our first major regional match of the year so this is our last "shake down" to check our equipment before our trip. Hopefully we won't be shooting in the temperatures we had today, looking forward to warmer weather with spring coming up.
Today's course has a fairly balanced amount of long windy shots, small technical shots and manageable moderate shots with a troyer score of 34 without wind calculated in. We have 18 standing shots throughout the course to give us all some extra practice.
Doug was on great form today showing us all he is ready for Baton Rouge. Dennis and Stan both shooting hunter class shot great scores especially for this being their first time FT match, nice shooting guys. Dan continues to show steady improvement getting things sorted out with his new gear and some practice sessions on nice days. Kevin has come back to the club after a few years hiatus and is still sorting out some new gear.
Wayne drove over from SC to shoot a solid score in tough conditions. Russ and Aimee both had new scopes and still shot good scores while figuring out new equipment during the shoot.
