ATN X Sight 4K Pro 3-14

Hi,

Does anyone know from experience what the minimum focusing distance ("MFD") is on the ATN X-SIGHT 4K PRO 3-14?

I am debating between two NV scope purchases: the ATN X-SIGHT 4K PRO 3-14, or the Sightmark Wraith (2-16 X 28) model. I sometimes do pesting of rats on my shed's roof and the distance is less than 10 yards.

I chatted with ATN's C.S. and they "thought the minimum focusing distance was 10 yards ~ 33 feet".

I know the Sightmark's MFD is less, but is also essentially a SFP scope.

I would like someone opinion based on experience. Thanks.

I just made this vid, I have a 5-20 atn 4k, the vid is aprox 10yds away and on 5x and focused usinng the paralex adjustment on front of scope, the squirrel cracking vid is at 50yds, the scope takes pretty good vids

Thanks for the reply. The clips look very good. Is that a real squirrel? I had to watch the clip twice. It looks like a ceramic statute, breaking apart on impact, lol.

The vids definitely look better than the actual scope view, your basically looking at a tv screen in the scope, my old eyes have trouble seeing sometimes through it at 50yds but to me the night vid capability is worth it to me to hang on to the scope.. my buddy on here ctairgunner1288 has a wraith I’m sure he will chime in here soon with his opinion of the wraith

Do you think it will focus at 7 - 8 yards?

Ok from the end of my barrel I measured 19’ so it looks to me that it focuses fine, this was at the lowest power setting of 5x and adjusting paralex on the scope. No problem on making the vid for ya, that scope is a big investment and would suck buying not knowing

Perfect thank you very much for your help! I really appreciate it.

The 3x and 5x are mechanical zoom. Anything past that is digital zoom. Imagine a 4k screen if you cut it into 4 sections then 12x and 20x is one of those sections. This gives 2 conclusions:

14x will be more pixilated because you are cropping in even more.

A 5-20 run at a lower power (e.g. 12x) will give even less pixilation.

If you are going to use the scope at only 3x then by all means purchase the 3-14. Otherwise, I would recommend the 5-20 for $17 more.
