ATN X-Sight 4K Pro 3-14x focus issues

Just received a used one off ebay today. It has major focus problems due to the front focus not being able to focus enough. If I could turn the focus ring more, I am sure it will all come into focus.


Here is a tree about 20 yards away, from my phone, through the scope and then through the scope with the pinhole. The pinhole sure does make a difference. Yes I am looking through my sliding glass door. It was the same whether I opened it or not. I found out about that pinhole trick from the link below. I hope this helps someone as I was flabbergasted.

Thanks. This scope is going back because it is defective. That kind of a blurry image at 20 yards on lowest zoom is really bad. It is basically unusable.

Why does it say ‘strong magnetic field’?

I don’t know what the interference is with the compass. It could be the phone in my pocket. But when I go outside, it works fine.

Looks kind of like you may have it zoomed in a bit? The more you zoom the worse the picture which is the standard for all digital zooming. Or, the parallax is not focused on the front of the scope. Mine is pretty clear but like yours, depending on lighting conditions, can be much better at times with a smaller aperture.

I am not zoomed in at all. It was at 3x, which is the lowest zoom setting. The parallax is not focused. It won’t turn anymore clockwise. If it could turn more clockwise, it would get clearer so I can see that 20 yard tree.

It’s on 3x zoom according to the screen. Mine is clear without anything added on for a pinhole mod. I would agree if the front objective has been adjusted and that’s the best it looks, send it back. 
ddn3f - I don’t know what you paid for that one but I just received a refurb unit I bought on eBay. I paid $464 for it minus the sales tax. Everything seems to work fine and I’m pleased so far with the scope.

I paid 400 + 28 shipping + tax. Around $450. I’ll try again. I bought on ebay because there’s protection for stuff like this.

Yup sounds like it needs to go back alright. They are nice when you have on that is not defective.

I cut my eBay purchases way back cuz I got far to much junk either defective or nothing like was described.
