Atn xsight 5 240fps

So atn released their new model the xsight 5. It's supposed to record up to 240fps in 4k. But I can not find any videos on youtube showing this. Most ppl who review this scope is using it on a firearm and doing normal 30 fps. Specs says it can do 4k 240, why the f are these reviews only doing it 30fps. Smh. Anyone have the new xsight 5, can you confirm it can record 4k 240 fps. And is the video better than using a gopro scope cam at 1080p 240fps.

I don't believe it records at a true 4K when recording at 240 FPS. The resolution is not as good as what they show on their website. It does pretty well recording at 120 FPS, but still not as clear as recording at 30 FPS.
I have a gopro 7 black side shot. I record in 1080p 240fps. Was thinking if this new xsight can do 4k 240fps as they claim, I would love to upgrade from my gopro 7 to the xsight. Would love a 4k 240fps scope for day and night. But like you say, the quality must be trash that's why no one is doing any reviews on its slow-motion. I guess I'll be sticking to gopro for slowmo.

I'll have to try and find the video I did in 240 FPS and send it to you. I may not be able to upload it here because it was a hunting video. I did check the manual last night, and 240 FPS is only available in daytime mode, not NV. Also, it's not a setting under the recording section like the 30/60/120 FPS selections, it an option under the quick menu, which is kind of odd. When the scope was first released, 240 FPS was only available when using RAV (Recoil Activated Video), which unfortunately, does not work consistently at all with an airgun. Shoot me a PM with your email address, if I can't find the video, I'll record a couple using 240, 120 and 60 FPS for comparison so you can see actual footage.

I'm thinking of just doing some new videos shooting a spinner target in all 4 speeds, that way I can post it here and put all 4 in one video. I also have video editing software so I can slow the video down, I'll d a separate video of the 4 speeds slowed as well and hopefully that will help demonstrate the differences in the record speed as well. I should be able to get something posted later today.

Okay, here's the video comparing the different record speeds and how they impact resolution.

This is a comparison of the recording speed on the ATN X-Sight 5 and how they impact resolution. The video is broken into 2 section (separated by a fade to white transition). Each section is comprised of 4 segments (separated by fade to black transitions). These are recorded at 30 FPS; 60 FPS; 120 FPS and 240 FPS respectively. The second section is edited with the shot segment slowed 90%. All 4 original shots were taken at 37 yards with the digital zoom set to 8X.

Ok thanks for letting us know it can't do slowmo at night. Would be good to have some night shooting in 240fps. Is the video quality better or as good as using a gopro 7 1080p 240fps? Maybe worst since it's only a digital camera and not an actual rifle scope.

Hey thanks for the video. The slow-motion looks like it's a normal video just slow down. Not actually 240fps recording. Cause video is not as smooth as using a gopro. Cant even see the pellet in flight. With gopro you can actually see the pellets in flight. Was excited when I saw their spec it's 4k 240fps recording. Thought I would upgrade my gopro to it for seeing pellets in flight in 4k. Guess not.

I attached the original 240 FPS video file to a PM to you. I tried to e-mail it, but the file is 28Mb and wouldn't send. If you play the original video in Quicktime, it displays as slomo and it's such smoother than in the video I posted above. I think because the video above was all 4 clips merged, the average FPS of the video gets averaged and ended up being 60 FPS. What it does show is how much the resolution degrades as you move up in record speed, which makes me wonder if it's true 4K at speeds above 30 FPS?
