Air Venturi Avenge - X .25 cal won a bench rest competition vs all others high end airguns

Just to show, that gap between budget and high end PCPs is getting smaller, just like the gap between .22 PCP and .22LR is getting smaller.

In both cases the one will not replace the other, but each is giving good competition to the other. Each has it's place.

Yupper, my Apperation can't be touched by air yet. Single hole groups at 100y are not uncommon once the barrel heats up.

I think this is awesome. But playing Devil's Advocate, do we know for sure this is an off the shelf Avenge X? Maybe a TJ barrel, or Huma reg, or port job, trigger job, ST Chassis, etc...? Here we are all assuming it's an "inexpensive" air rifle, but we really don't know do we?

How many EBR/Pyramid Cup ect winner's guns are 100% off the shelf ?

Some.... but that wasn't my point. We are sporting wood over a under $500 gun shooting well at 100 yards. But IS IT under $500, or is it closer to $1,000 or more? And yes, a good number of Daystate Red Wolves shoot pretty much bone stock. EBR 2022, I shot 100Y and finished 3rd Pro with a gun that I bought off the shelf approx. one month prior. I didn't even change the tune on Medium, since it came shooting the .25 Heavy at 940 fps, so I left it there... Yes, I didn't "win", but was top 3...

I don't think it detracts from the awesome achievement for an entry level gun if it has a huma reg, port job or trigger job...heck even re-barreled...it is nice to see a new brand, and in many ways the underdog take the crown.

Do you think any of the top-tier rifles are stock standard? No, they are many times heavily modified.

I don't know where in this thread things went from congratulating a shooter for their accomplishment to some high end air gun vs entry level airgun debate that glorifies high end airguns for being BR ready off the shelf..

Is this some kind of advert for high end airguns or just the desire to defend the high end airguns in a thread about an Avengerr-X winning a competition?
