Air Venturi Avenge X regulator question

I received a new regulator from AV and 50 shots strings of the JSB 25.4 grain, 25 cal pellets at 915 FPS are giving me a SD of a tick above 4 so that looks pretty good. I did notice this AM that I lost about 20B of tank pressure and I hadn’t noticed that before. I did do a number of degas/fill cycles to set the reg pressure. I’m not sure if I should worry about the air loss or not. I had just filled it prior to letting it sit so this may just be the cooling of the charge. I’ll let it go another day before I start thinking I’m leaking somewhere.

The question i have concerns the sealing of the regulator body. The reg just screws into the receiver block with No O rings or any other sealing means. The piston stem protrudes out of the reg body so that body must be seeing the whole tank pressure, right? How does the body get sealed up with just the threads into the receiver? Maybe I’m missing something.

I think I answered my own question. The O-ring on the end of the piston shaft must be the seal since the hole in the shaft is below the O-ring. I imagine then that since the entire body of the regulator is moved up and down to position the seal at varying distances from the
seat, that O-ring is riding in a tubular space above the seat. At least I think that’s it.

Just a quick update on this. I realized that my leaking had started after the regulator replacement. I also had taken the regulator out a few times. At no point did I ever grease that sealing O-ring. I pulled the reg and used the Super Lube silicone grease on the O-ring and the overnite pressure check shows a drop in pressure that is so small as to maybe be my imagination. So I guess the phrase is:

See O-ring, grease O-ring.
