Avenger .177

I received the Avenger .177 today and noticed the pellet pusher probe rides high into the breach hole along the top and I know that it's a matter of time the o-rings on the probe will shred. Does anyone out there know if the pellet probe is adjustable on the Avenger?

No . But mine did come with 2 spare probe o-rings. that’s interesting.

Just checked mine out. And my probe does the exact same thing.

I wonder if the breach is the same for the 177 and 22. Mine looks like it would probably center perfectly in a 22 opening.

Shawnlyndy, I feel you are right about the breech being the same as the 22. The smaller diameter probe on the 177 just shows the cost cutting measures of the 299. rifle. When I get the scope off again I will take a look under the scope rail and see what's under it. I do have the spare o-rings and always keep them lubed.

How do you know which model you have?

I think you’re a little premature and even optimistic about a “Gen2” Avenger.

we are likely still working through the first production batch and who exactly have you received information from on an improved version coming out?

btw I’m a very happy .22 avenger owner

Show me. I may be wrong but as an early owner I’ve been pretty in tune with all the conversations occurring. No where have I seen anything other than forum member and reviewer speculation regarding a revised model. I would love to be wrong here.

Sounds like good news and possibly warranty swap for the gen2 (wishful thinking). Glad yours still shoots perfect!

You are one of the "maybe nots" from Air Velocity Sport comment on video about having to buy a replacement valve poppet from DUY. "You're gonna need it"..."maybe not".

Don't be bummed because I am far worse off than you because I own 4 Nova Liberties and 4 Nova Freedoms (including a broken one that wasn't a $100 as-is warranty traded in broken gun sold from that ATI company) and one Seneca Aspen with the same valve seal as the Avenger Gen1.

I will absolutely not bump the power up and just shoot them as slowest speeds as accurately possible to prolong all of their valve seal life and probably lower the regs to their minimum because I don't like having to deal with broken and leaking guns and 1 out of 9 already down so far after a little over a year's use just out of warranty lucky I bought several spare duplicates of them. You see...That's life!

This is why I await a Gen2 and improved parts to upgrade all of mine because I don't like having a FINITE life expectancy nor owning any disposable airguns nor having to purposely crank their power down in order to achieve longer but still FINITE life.

Yep, the Gen II is out there. Known problem with the Avenger.

They Probably want to do something to stay up to date to give a good run with the New improved wooden stocked DAR GEN2 that's around the same sub $300 price point and 177 for even $30 cheaper as well.
